We climbed to the top together. One team. One company.

Day 2 of Shaping ’27 started with an equally important challenge: working out how we’ll deliver on our ambitions for greehill and the cities we serve.

Teams explored how we can work better together, where AI can help and what we need from one another to move forward. Understanding a colleague’s challenges gives us a better starting point for solving them together.

Then we headed to Hármashatárhegy. Leadership and staff climbed side by side, with a beautiful view waiting at the top. For a global team that rarely shares the same place, it was a moment to pause and enjoy how far we had come together.

The evening at Events Hill brought laughter, games and thoughtful questions that helped us get to know the people behind our everyday roles.

We’re building a new way for cities to manage urban trees as infrastructure. These are the people and relationships that make that ambition possible.

One Company. One Direction.

Day 1 of Shaping ’27 brought our global greehill team together in Budapest to think about the future we want to build and how we’ll help cities care for their trees.

We shared ideas, asked questions and helped shape our direction for 2027.

Then came dinner at ISSEI Skybar. A glass raised, a conversation that ran a little longer, a chance to know each other beyond our roles.

We have big ambitions at greehill. Spending time with the people behind them made us even more excited about what comes next.

More than 1,000 kilometres of roads. One consistent view of the trees that line them.

In the Somme department in France, greehill is scanning roadside trees across a network of more than 1,000 km, providing the digital foundation for how they are managed over time.

It is a project at infrastructure scale: turning a vast roadside tree population into consistent, actionable information for long-term management.

Today, our team joined the Somme department to present the project at a press conference.

We are very happy to welcome Nóra Szedmák as our new Head of People & Culture at greehill.

A tree inventory captures an urban forest at one point in time.

But trees do not stand still.

They grow, recover from pruning and respond to drought, construction, storms and increasingly unpredictable weather. Some decline faster than a typical inventory cycle can record.

Keeping that data current often falls to municipal field teams already inspecting high-risk trees, responding to storm damage, managing contractors and carrying out routine maintenance.

In the United States, a nationwide survey found that each full-time municipal urban forestry employee was responsible for an average of 4,821 public trees.

That scale makes one thing clear: cities need current information without adding another layer of documentation for field crews.

For greehill, technology has a practical role. It should help urban forestry teams keep pace with changes in the field, rather than asking them to record every change themselves.

Meet Lilla Ondok.

GIS Analyst. Field scanner. Photographer.

Since joining .tree, Lilla has been working across Europe, scanning trees in public parks and city streets and helping build the urban tree data cities need to manage and protect their canopy.

Her background spans geoinformatics, archaeological fieldwork, water utility GIS, and photography.

What she likes about field scanning?

“You see the city differently. Every street, every park, every tree becomes part of a bigger picture.”
