The Cameroon National Youth Council (CNYC) was established to give young people a voice in social, economic and development process of the Country. It is an apolitical and non-profit institution that serves as a national forum for consultation, expression, co-ordination, dialogue and action of youth organizations. The CNYC operates under the Ministry of Youth & Civic education.
As part of its social program of assistance aimed at reducing unemployment through the training and integration of young Cameroonians into the professional milieu, the Cameroon National Youth Council launched a program in 2015 called the CNJC SOCIAL PROGRAM 2020 with a prime objective to train and orientate 2000 youths towards meaningful and direct employment by 2020. This pact was endorsed and signed by the CNJC, MINFOP, Groupe CSP Education, MINFOPRA and a consortium of private Companies.
Since the launched of the program, it has recordeded a sucess rate of 89.67 % by creating meaningful employment and the financing of 23 projects to create direct jobs. The CNJC Social Program does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, age, marital status, s*x, s*xual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability, religion, financial or social status, height, weight, or veteran status in employment, educational programs and activities.
