La reinita carinegra (Basileuterus melanogenys) es una pequeña joya endémica de los bosques nubosos de altura en Costa Rica y Panamá, encontrándose comúnmente en elevaciones que van desde los 1,500 hasta los 3,000 metros sobre el nivel del mar. Esta especie destaca por su brillante corona amarilla que contrasta con sus distintivas mejillas oscuras y su plumaje oliváceo. De comportamiento muy activo e inquieto, se desplaza constantemente en parejas o grupos pequeños por el sotobosque y la vegetación densa, inspeccionando el follaje y el musgo en busca de insectos.
The Black-cheeked Warbler (Basileuterus melanogenys) is a tiny jewel endemic to the high-elevation cloud forests of Costa Rica and Panama, commonly found at elevations ranging from 1,500 to 3,000 meters above sea level. This species stands out for its bright yellow crown contrasting with its distinctive dark cheeks and olive plumage. Highly active and restless, it moves constantly in pairs or small groups through the understory and dense vegetation, inspecting foliage and moss in search of insects.
