📘 EAN publishes new report on sustainable funding of elderly care in the European Union

The European Ageing Network (EAN) has published a new report, Towards a framework for sustainable, equitable and responsible funding of elderly care in the European Union.

The report addresses one of the key challenges facing ageing European societies: how to ensure access to high-quality care, support and suitable housing for older people in a context of rising demand and limited public resources.

It highlights that elderly care must remain a public responsibility, while ethical, transparent private funding can responsibly complement public systems to support quality, innovation and long-term sustainability.

🗣️ “Sustainable funding of elderly care is not only a financial challenge, but a moral one,” says Jiří Horecký, President of EAN.

The report is the result of more than 18 months of work by the EAN Funding Working Group and is intended as a practical tool for policymakers, care providers and stakeholders across Europe.
