Panther Family - Take avantage of the next Care Van Immunization Clinic set for May 17. The clinic is open to all students from Pre-K to grade 12 who meet the requirements, which are listed on the sign-up form. Congratulations to our 2021-2022 Teachers of the Year Myronda Mays of Kennemer Middle School and Jessica Thomas of Acton Leadership Academy! The winners were announced at tonight's Employee Appreciation Event!
We want to wish the best of luck to Panther Pride senior Kelly Garcia as she heads to Texas Christian University in the fall. As a senior, Kelly serves as a National Honor Society officer, is part of the softball team, and a member of student council and Y-Achievers. Her hard work has earned her a spot in the Top 11 of her class. Great job, Kelly!
Tonight will be magical as we honor Duncanville ISD staff including retirees, teachers of the year, Spirit of a Champion winners, and employees who have reached a milestone. All staff are invited to tonight's event to celebrate! Join us for a reception at 6 p.m. and ceremony at 7 p.m. in the DHS Shine Performance Hall. Enjoy refreshments, a 360 degree camera station, and more!
Due to high demand, the district has decided to increase the number of seats available to students in the 2022-2023 Middle School Choice Programs. Apply by June 1 to be eligible to attend. The district offers three programs: The Business & Technology Program at Reed Middle School, The Health Science Program at Byrd Middle School, and The STEAM Academy at Kennemer Middle School. All Duncanville ISD students in grades Pre-K through 12 are invited to pick up a FREE book on Tuesday, May 10, from 5:30 - 7 pm in the Duncanville High School main parking lot. The free books are written by authors who will read virtually to students on May 20 during the annual Duncanville Reads event. A special thanks to the Duncanville Rotary Club, Dr. Miner, and Duncanville ISD Education Foundation for generously donating books for this event, which is sponsored by Duncanville ISD Library Services.
We are so proud of our next Panther Pride student, Jessica Washington. Jessica is in the Top 11 of her class and is involved several club organizations including Youth and Government, Student Council and the National Spanish Honor Society. Jessica will be attending the University of Chicago to study public policy.
Thanks to everyone who attended tonight's Boys Basketball Championship Celebration! Athletes signed autographs for the community. City, district and state leaders honored the team with words of praise and awards. We are proud of these young men for their accomplishments on and off the court. 🏀 🥇🏆

We'd like to introduce you to Panther Pride senior Alexis Solis. Alexis is in the Top 11 of her class and plans to study interior design at the University of North Texas. As a high school senior, Alexis has been part of the softball team, Y-Achievers, student council, Skills USA, National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society.

Celeste is in the Top 11 of her class, is the National Honor Society president and a member of the National Technical Honor Society, Y-Achievers and student council. Celeste will be studying civil engineering at Southern Methodist University. Congratulations, Celeste!

Panther Family - Beginning Monday, May 2, mask coverings will be optional for people inside Duncanville ISD facilities. As the number of COVID-19 cases continues to decline in our area, county health officials have indicated the risk for COVID-19 in fully vaccinated people is low. Dallas County Health’s risk level has transitioned to green, which is the lowest level on the scale.
Students, staff and school guests who wish to continue wearing masks are welcome to do so.

Way to go, Miranda Perez! This Panther Pride senior plans to attend Sam Houston State University and a policy academy post graduation. During her time at Duncanville High School, she's known as an accomplished softball athlete. Congratulations, Miranda!

At this event, we'll honor our retirees, staff who have reached an employment milestone, Teachers of the Year, and Spirit of a Champion winners. To close out the night, the District Elementary Teacher of the Year and District Secondary Teacher of the Year will be announced. Fairmeadows Elementary School teacher Laura Vargas loves to see how much her daughter Juliette is learning in her Pre-K class. Ms. Vargas gets to see her daughter grow as a student first hand since Juliette is just down the hall. Juliette loves school and Mom knows she's in good hands. Employees can enroll their student in our Pre-K programs for three- and four-year-olds.
Duncanville ISD is proud to celebrate Administrative Professionals Day! These individuals are the backbone of departments and campuses across the district. They keep day-to-day operations running smoothly and are often seen as a go-to person. Even though we've pictured just a few of our administrative professionals here, we are thankful for everyone who fills this role in the district.
Congratulations to Megan Bryant, our next Panther Pride honoree! Megan plans to attend SMU in the fall to study sports management. She is an accomplished photographer - Megan has photographed state-level football games and she's earned a Superior Rating from Best in Texas. We are proud of you, Megan!
Thank you to the Duncanville Rotary Club and First United Methodist for honoring our 2020-21 and 2021-22 Teachers of the Year as well as our most recent Spirit of a Champion recipients! Honorees were treated to barbecue, music, and guest speakers Eika Johnson (past Secondary Teacher of the Year) and senior Evan Lee. Finally, special guests were individually presented with awards! Thanks to all who attended and celebrated!
