On February 17, 2026, the blog of Top Radio published a post recounting a passionate and unprecedented release made by Hon. Aaron David Togba in 2023, in which he pledged to conduct a peace and reconciliation event, slaughter a cow, and work collaboratively with any elected representative of Electoral District Three. He further pledged to initiate development projects alongside said representative at his goodwill, provided that such a representative upholds the cause of the people above all else. He made it equally clear that if the reverse were to be the case, he, Hon. Aaron David Togba, would lead a movement for change in 2029.
Addressing the first pledge concerning peace and reconciliation, any responsible journalist would have first asked: Can such an event be convened without the full cooperation of the parties involved? Has the elected representative failed to meet the envisioned qualities outlined in said pledge? And fundamentally, what is truly at stake? Rather than pursuing these elementary journalistic inquiries, Top FM chose instead to traffic in falsehood and ill-conceived narratives that do a disservice to the public and to the profession.
For the record, the publisher made no attempt to contact this movement for comment, inquiry, or clarification โ a basic requirement of balanced and ethical journalism.
Contrary to the publication's claims of abandonment, there are several ongoing projects currently being undertaken by Hon. Aaron David Togba through this movement in direct service to the people of Electoral District Three. The movement subsequently made an effort to contact the publisher, who himself admitted that his original intention had been to applaud the Chief Patron's commitment โ not to cast it in a negative light.
We believe this contradiction is the direct result of the publisher's inability to properly direct the use of artificial intelligence tools, thereby allowing the technology to override his original intent and produce an expression entirely inconsistent with his purpose.
Let it be made unequivocally clear that our Chief Patron's arms remain open to all. He is focused on the next generation โ not the next election.
We therefore call on journalists across the county to continually uphold the standards that preserve the dignity of this noble profession and avoid being used by politicians to target positive change makers. As a Political Movement, We are aware of the masterminds to the failed move.
The movement and her Chief Patron remain fully available for further engagement and clarification on this matter, and we strongly encourage responsible publication that includes all relevant voices before going to press.
