Op Ed

Tomorrow is Topsfield's Pride Parade. Although that's a bit of a misnomer because it's only held in Topsfield, it's not actually run by the town. Volunteers from the Tri-Town Human Rights Coalition organize the award winning parade, now in its fourth year.

Out Leadership index recently rated Massachusetts as the best place to live and conduct business for the LGBTQ community, and I can attest that we wouldn't want to live anywhere else. Keeping our children safe is obviously important and right now, Massachusetts is a relatively safe place for our child, and Topsfield is one of the safest towns in the state. Let's keep it that way and make sure that families and individuals are protected and supported. Visibility matters.

Thank you to the volunteers who make sure our families are represented and supported.

Our hearts are with the families of Topsfield and all those with loved ones actively serving in the military. We see the quiet strength it takes to support those who serve, and we are deeply grateful for your sacrifices.

As the daughter of a World War II Navy veteran, I know service carries lifelong effects for both those who serve and the families who stand beside them. We also hold our veterans close in our thoughts, especially during uncertain times. Your service and sacrifice will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸
