The 529th Military Police Company was constituted on June 28, 1945 as the 153rd Military Police Service Company. On July 13, 1945, the Department of the Army activated the 153rd in New Delhi, India .The unit served in China, India, and Burma until its deactivation on April 10, 1946 in India. d at Giessen, Germany with subsequent duties at Wetzlar Post, Frankfurt, and Rhine Military Police Districts. On June 22, 1951, the 529th Military Police Service Company was re-designated as the 529th Military Police Company and allotted to the regular Army. In September 1951, the 529th Military Police Company was transferred to La Rochelle, France where it remained until December of 1952 when it transferred to the US Army Europe (USAREUR) headquarters in Heidelberg, Germany and was designated as the USAREUR Honor Guard. In July 1972, the 529th Military Police Company became part of the 26th Area Support Group, which re-designated as the 26th Support Battalion (Provisional) in December 1981.In 1974, the 529th Military Police Company, won the prestigious Holland Award for Best MP Company in the Army. Today, the Company is assigned to the 709th Military Police Battalion and 18th MP Brigade, which are headquartered in Grafenwohr, Germany. The Company is the largest and most mission-diverse Military Police Company in the United States Army.The 529th Military Police Company remains as the USAREUR-AF Honor Guard, in addition to its primary mission of combat support and law enforcement operations. In 1995 the company deployed to Hungary in support of the Implementation Force (IFOR); Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo. The Company deployed again in 2000 in support of the Kosovo Force (KFOR) and in 2002 to the former Yugoslavia in support of KFOR Transfer of Authority (TOA).Since the Global War on Terrorism began, the 529th Military Police Company has supported multiple individual and Platoon deployments in support of Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom including deployments to Incirlik, Turkey in support of OEF I and Afghanistan in support of OEF 05-07; Baghdad, Iraq in support of OIF II and OIF 07-09; Romania/Bulgaria in support of Joint Task Force-East; and Kosovo in support of KFOR19. In 2009 the unit provided ceremonial support to the 65th Anniversary of the D-Day Invasion. The 529th Military Police Company was selected as the 2009 Griffin Award winner for the best MP Company in Europe and was the first runner up for the JP Holland Award. In July of 2012, the company moved to Wiesbaden, Germany as part of the USAREUR transformation. In July of 2015, to complete the company’s transformation, 3rd platoon assumed law enforcement duties in Vicenza and Camp Darby, Italy.
