Algerian daily El Moudjahid opened its recent article with the August 18 meeting between Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies Mourad Adjal and Ambassador Min Kyung-tae, highlighting the recent momentum in energy cooperation between Korea and Algeria.

The newspaper also covered Ambassador Min’s recent diplomatic engagements, including the presentation of his credentials to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune in June and his meeting with Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lounes Magramane in July. It also highlighted the significance of the 20th anniversary of the Korea–Algeria Strategic Partnership this year. In addition, the article referred to the April visit to Algeria by Park Jonghan, Deputy Minister for Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, and the high-level consultations held during his visit, noting the continued expansion of strategic cooperation between the two countries in the areas of economy and trade.

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Algeria will continue to expand cooperation that meets Algeria’s needs in energy transition and industrial development, while working to ensure that such cooperation also contributes to Korea’s stable energy supply and creates new opportunities for Korean companies. 양측은 발전소 건설 등 양국 간 에너지 협력 현안을 논의하는 한편, 수소, 에너지효율화 등 신규 분야에 대해서도 협력을 강화하는 데 공감대를 형성하였습니다.

대사관은 앞으로도 양국 간 에너지분야 협력이 실질적인 프로젝트로 연결될 수 있도록 적극 지원해나가겠습니다.

في الـ18 أوت، قام سعادة السفير مين كيونغ-تاي بزيارة مجاملة إلى السيد مراد عجال، وزير الطاقة والطاقات المتجددة بالجزائر، حيث بحث الجانبان عدداً من القضايا ذات الاهتمام المشترك.

واستعرض الجانبان مجالات التعاون القائمة في قطاع الطاقة بين كوريا والجزائر، بما في ذلك مشاريع إنشاء محطات توليد الكهرباء، كما تبادلا وجهات النظر حول أهمية توسيع نطاق التعاون ليشمل مجالات جديدة، مثل الهيدروجين وكفاءة استخدام الطاقة.

On August 18, Ambassador Min Kyung-tae paid a courtesy call on Mourad Adjal, Minister of Energy and Renewable Energies of Algeria, and discussed key issues of mutual interest.

The two sides reviewed ongoing areas of energy cooperation between Korea and Algeria, including power plant construction, and shared the view that cooperation should be further expanded into new areas such as hydrogen and energy efficiency.


The Embassy will continue to actively support efforts to turn bilateral energy cooperation into concrete and tangible projects.

Monday, 22 June – Sunday, 31 August 2026

Eligibility:
• Participants aged 14 and above
• Individual and group applications accepted.
• At least one Algerian National must be included in the team.
• For the individual participants must be Algerian nationals.

Competition Categories:
• Vocal
• Dance
• Applicants may participate in both categories

Submission Requirements:
• one video performance per category
• Total video length not exceeding 4 minutes
• Excessive editing should be avoided
• Vocal applicants must clearly show their face, upper body, and lip movements.

For GKS-U, applicants from Algeria may apply through the University Track. Under this track, applicants must submit their application documents directly to a participating Korean university, in accordance with the application guidelines and the requirements of each university.

Please note that there is no separate Embassy Track quota for GKS-U in Algeria.

8월 5일 민경태 대사는 알제리 탄화수소부를 방문해 모하메드 아르캅(Mohamed Arkab) 장관을 예방하고 주요 현안을 협의하였습니다.

양측은 원유·나프타 등 양국 에너지 교역 현황에 대해 논의하는 한편, 석유화학, LNG 및 수소 등 다양한 에너지 분야에서 양국 간 협력 잠재력이 크다는 데에도 공감하였습니다.

에너지 공급망 다변화의 중요성이 커지고 있는 가운데, 대사관은 앞으로도 양국 간 에너지 안보 분야 협력과 기업 간 실질적인 협력이 더욱 확대될 수 있도록 적극 지원해 나가겠습니다.

في الـ5 أوت، زار سعادة السفير مين كيونغ تاي وزارة المحروقات الجزائرية، وأدى زيارة مجاملة إلى السيد الوزير محمد عرقاب، لبحث عدد من القضايا ذات الاهتمام المشترك.

وخلال اللقاء، ناقش الطرفان التعاون التجاري في مجال الطاقة بين البلدين، بما في ذلك تجارة النفط الخام والنافثا، كما أكدا وجود إمكانات كبيرة لتعزيز التعاون في مختلف مجالات الطاقة، بما يشمل البتروكيميائيات، والغاز الطبيعي المسال، والهيدروجين.

On August 5, Ambassador Min Kyung-tae visited Algeria’s Ministry of Hydrocarbons and paid a courtesy call on Minister Mohamed Arkab to discuss key issues of mutual interest.

The two sides discussed bilateral energy trade, including trade in crude oil and naphtha, and agreed that there is considerable potential for cooperation across a range of energy sectors, including petrochemicals, LNG, and hydrogen.

At a time when the diversification of energy supply chains is becoming increasingly important, the Embassy will continue to actively support the further expansion of bilateral cooperation in energy security and tangible partnerships between Korean and Algerian companies.
