OFFICIAL CLARIFICATION STATEMENT
The SPLM/SPLA (IO) Mission Egypt wishes to clarify the recent misleading reports regarding the alleged defection of Cde. Ngundeng James G*i.
First and foremost, Cde. Ngundeng James G*i has never served as the SPLM(IO) Representative to the Arab Republic of Egypt, contrary to claims circulating in some media outlets. He previously served as the SPLM(IO) Coordinator in Egypt, a position from which he was democratically replaced through an established electoral process in accordance with the movement's organizational procedures.
Therefore, any decision taken by Cde. Ngundeng James G*i, in his personal capacity, including his reported alignment with the faction led by Mr. Stephen Par Kuol, should not be construed as representing the position, membership, or leadership of the SPLM(IO) Egypt Mission.
The SPLM(IO) Egypt Mission, under Amb. Gatkuoth Gatloth Kier, remains under the legitimate leadership of the Movement led by H.E. Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurguon, the Chairman and Commander-In-Chief, and the First Vice President of the Republic and his Deputy, the Rt. Hon. Oyet Nathaniel Pierino, who is the Acting Chairman and Commander-In-Chief. The mission continues to operate under the guidance and authority of the recognized SPLM(IO) leadership and remains fully committed to the movement's vision, principles, and objectives.
We categorically reject and dismiss attempts to portray Cde. Ngundeng James G*i's personal political decision was a collective defection of SPLM(IO) members in Egypt. Such claims are entirely unfounded, misleading, and intended to create confusion among members, supporters, and the public.
The SPLM(IO) Egypt Mission remains united, steadfast, and loyal to its legitimate leadership. We urge the public and media outlets to verify information through official channels and refrain from spreading fabricated or misleading reports.
