Voting Against The Odds: How Ethiopia Turns Election Skepticism Into A Historic Success

++++++++++++++++++
: Ethiopia's 7th General Election has appeared to be a significant political watershed not only in the country but also in the conflict-stricken Horn region, offering a critical assessment of democratic consolidation, electoral credibility, and institutional resilience.

Far beyond a routine vote, the election became a contest between competing political narrativesโ€”one centered on skepticism, instability, and voter disengagement, and the other on democratic participation, constitutional order, and popular sovereignty.

The unprecedented voter turnout witnessed across the country effectively challenged pre-election predictions and transformed the ballot box into a powerful expression of political legitimacy, civic mandate, and public confidence in the electoral process.
