Today on World Humanitarian Day we express our gratitude to humanitarian workers. Poland cooperates with them through international and non-governmental organisations, which helps us reach communities that most need urgent support.

“We wanted to be free and to owe that freedom to ourselves”

These words, spoken by Jan Stanisław Jankowski on 1 September 1944, reflect the spirit of the Warsaw Uprising, which began on 1 August 1944. It was the largest military effort by any European resistance movement against German occupation during World War II.

On the 82nd anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising, we honour its brave women and men, as well as the people of Warsaw who supported them.

We remember.

🇵🇱 🇪🇹 Poland supports emergency and disaster response services in Ethiopia

Through the “Support to Development of Emergency and Disaster Response Services in Ethiopia” project, co-financed by the Polish development cooperation programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, healthcare professionals are receiving training in pre-hospital emergency care and emergency medical response.

Implemented by the Polish Center for International Aid (PCPM) Polskie Centrum Pomocy Międzynarodowej (PCPM) in partnership with the International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR) and Ethiopian partners, the project strengthens emergency response capacity and helps build more resilient healthcare systems.
