Sustainable reintegration requires more than a single intervention—it requires coordinated action, strong institutions, and opportunities that enable people to rebuild their lives with dignity.

Through the Migration MPTF-supported Joint Programme in Addis Ababa, UN-Habitat, ILO and WHO worked together to support returned migrants through integrated services, skills development, economic empowerment, and strengthened local systems.

The results demonstrate the power of collaboration and joint action in creating meaningful and lasting change for individuals, families, and communities.

Proud to be part of this important initiative and our collective efforts to support sustainable reintegration in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

"A global system designed without Africa – and still largely operating without Africa, perpetuating century-old injustices.

A continent of more than one and a half billion people, with no permanent seats on the UN Security Council.

And without the voice, representation, and decision-making power it deserves inside the international financial institutions that shape its economy.

It is not Africa that loses. It is the world that loses by the fact that the voice of Africa is not taken into account."

António Guterres, UN Secretary-General, at at the opening the Africa Forward Summit today.
