ኑ አብረን ሰላምን አናስተምር!

"ሰላማዊ" የሚለው ስም አንድን ሰው፣ ቡድን ወይም ማህበረሰብ ሰላም ነው ብሎ ሊገልፅ ሲፈልግ የሚመርጠው የአማርኛ ቃል ነው። ከዚህ ገፅ የሚወጡት ሁሉም የመገናኛ ዘዴዎች ስለሰላም ግንዛቤን ለመፍጠር ፣ ታጋሽነትን ፣ አፍቃሪነትን፣ አንድነትን እንዲሁም በጎነትን የሚያሳዩ ባህሪያትን የሚፈጥሩ ናቸው።። "Selamawi" is an Amharic term chosen for the very example it should be when describing a person, group or community as peaceful. All the communications coming out of this page exhibit the characteristics of a

"Peaceful", tolerant፣ loving and unity devoted to sharing positive energy to create awareness on the concept of peace. The project is being supported by the Rotary Club of Addis Ababa West in through volunteers engaged in providing digital peace program.

🕊️🌍 OUR SECOND PEACE POLE NOW STANDS! 🌿🎶

On 9 August 2026, Ethiopia’s second Peace Pole was proudly erected at Mesob Music Center, officially joining the Global Peace Pole Movement⁠.

Beautifully handcrafted by Rotary service members Artist Kassahun Hailu and Artist Bisrat Tulu, its four sides carry the timeless message:

“May Peace Prevail on Earth”
“ሰላም በምድር ላይ ይስፈን”

Adorned with hand-designed peace symbols, this is more than a monument—it is a living promise that art, culture, music and community can grow peace.

🕊️🎨 You Are Invited: Peace Pole Inauguration 🎨🕊️

What if a simple work of art could carry a message powerful enough to unite people across cultures, generations, and nations?

The Peace Pole movement began with a simple prayer: “May Peace Prevail on Earth.” Today, thousands of Peace Poles stand in schools, parks, community centers, and public spaces around the world as symbols of hope, unity, and our shared commitment to peace. Rotary clubs and peacebuilders worldwide have embraced Peace Poles as lasting reminders that peace begins with each of us.

We are delighted to invite you to the inauguration of a unique Peace Pole, creatively crafted through art, culture, and craftsmanship, at the Alle School of Fine Arts and Design. This special gathering will bring together artists, Rotarians, Rotaractors, peace advocates, students, and friends who believe that creativity can be a powerful force for peace.

📚🕊️ DIALOGUE, LITERATURE & PEACE: THE HOHE CHAPTER JOURNEY CONTINUES 🕊️📚

As we reflect on another inspiring month of learning and dialogue, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who joined the Hohe Chapter’s review of “ከማይጨው እስከ ኦጋዴን”—the remarkable story of Count Carl Gustaf von Rosen, a humanitarian whose life embodied compassion, courage, and service beyond borders.

Through literature, we create spaces where people listen, learn, reflect, and engage in meaningful conversations. These dialogues are powerful tools for peacebuilding, helping us understand history, celebrate shared humanity, and build bridges across generations and communities.

This month’s gathering reminded us that Rotary’s Area of Focus on Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention begins with conversation, understanding, and respect. Books open minds. Dialogue opens hearts. Together, they create pathways to peace.

We thank our speakers, participants, scholars, partners, and all members of the Hohe community who continue to make these gatherings possible. Your presence transforms reading into reflection and reflection into action.

As we move forward, Hohe Chapter remains committed to using literature as a platform for dialogue, reconciliation, learning, and peace. Because every great conversation has the power to inspire understanding—and every act of understanding brings us one step closer to a more peaceful world.

We are especially proud to celebrate and honor Girum Seifu (Ras Girum) — distinguished journalist, radio personality, peace ambassador, and passionate football storyteller. During the evening, we will officially open his photographic exhibition showcasing his incredible journey across three FIFA World Cups, featuring unforgettable moments from stadiums, fan zones, media centers, cities, and cultures around the world.
