Today Ambassador Charles Karamba visited the MESOB Service - Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia , a one stop center service provider that has gone a long way to ease service delivery. The organization CEO shared insights on its innovative approach to transforming public service delivery and expressed leadership readiness to share experiences. He reminded that the center was established after benchmarking with some other African countries Rwanda being one of them.

Today at Holeta Military Academy, Ethiopia, two Rwanda Defence Force students were among hundreds of officer cadets who graduated in the 71st Metema Long Cadet Course in a ceremony that was presided over Field Marshal Birhanu Jula, the Chief of General Staff of the Ethiopian National Defence Force.

Officer Cadet Niyigena Lucie was recognized as the top-performing international officer cadet among all other allied graduates.

The ceremony was attended by Col. David Sangani, Defence Attaché at the Embassy of Rwanda in Ethiopia.

The two graduates attests to the wider cooperation between the Republic of Rwanda and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, especially in defence and security building, and underscores the strong cooperation between the Rwanda Defence Force and the FDRE Defense Force - የኢፌዴሪ መከላከያ ሠራዊት .

Today, Amb. Charles Karamba participated in an interactive session between the African Union Permanent Representatives’ Committee (PRC) and Dr. Barham Salih , UNHCR High Commissioner, currently on a working visit in Addis.

He shared Rwanda’s experience in refugee hosting and management, as a host country of around 140,000 refugees and asylum seekers, talked about Emergency Transit Mechanism (ETM), providing framework for evacuation, temporary stay in pursuit of durable solution for refugees evacuated from Libya in need of international protection.

Today, Amb. Charles Karamba participated and shared Rwanda perspective in the thematic meeting of the Group of Francophone Ambassadors , that also brought together experts from Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) and some member states registration systems to exchange experiences, discuss challenges, and share best practices for strengthening Civil Registration and Vital Statistics ( ) systems across Africa.

The discussions highlighted the importance of collaboration, innovation, and inclusive identity systems in advancing sustainable development.

Today, Amb. Charles Karamba participated in the Economic Commission for Africa Quarterly Briefing of African Ambassadors, where H.E. Claver Gatete, Executive Secretary of ECA led discussions on Africa’s development priorities.

In the same meeting, the Ethiopia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Gedion Timothewos briefed Ambassadors on government preparations for . Updates were also provided on ECA’s programme of activities and key continental platforms, including the African Business Forum ( ), Conference of African Ministers of Finance, Planning and Development, African Regional Forum on Sustainable Development ( ), and African Development Impact Forum ( ).

The engagement provided an opportunity for Ambassadors to share reflections and reaffirm a collective commitment to advancing sustainable development, economic transformation, and climate action across Africa.

Rwandan health professionals currently pursuing different specialized resident training in Ethiopia concluded a two-day outdoor program organized by the Ministry of Health,Ethiopia featuring visits to healthcare facilities, historical sites, and key development projects across Addis Ababa. The program provided valuable insights into Ethiopia’s healthcare system, urban transformation, and community-driven development initiatives.

At the end of this outdoor program Amb Charles Karamba and the group was honored to be received and hosted for a reception by H.E. Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed Ali , reflecting the strong relationship and cooperation between Rwanda and Ethiopia. In this case, the health sector. The 32nd Commemoration of the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi | Djibouti, April 23, 2026

Today The 32nd Commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda was held at the Palais du Peuple in Djibouti under the theme “Remember, Unite, Renew.”

The event brought together government officials, members of parliament, the diplomatic corps, representatives of international organizations, and friends of Rwanda.

The representative of the Government of Djibouti, H.E. Mouna Osman Aden, Minister of Women and family paid tribute to the victims and survivors, emphasizing the importance of remembrance, education, and collective action in preventing genocide and crimes against humanity.

Ambassador Charles Karamba praised the solidarity of Djibouti Government and people as Rwanda Commemorates. He reaffirmed Rwanda’s leadership and steadfastness in its unwavering commitment to protecting her people from the scourge of genocide, warning against any tolerance of hate speech and genocide ideology in the region. He reminded of the enduring threat posed by FDLR genocidal forces still operating in EDRC. He emphasized Rwanda’s responsibility to safeguard and protect the achieved post genocide peace and stability.

He further highlighted Rwanda’s deliberate choice to place unity at the heart of nation rebuilding choosing reconciliation over revenge, solidarity over division, and progress over despair.

Charles Karamba received a team of -n Government Officials and Private Sector operators from Rwanda Ministry of Trade & Industry , Rwanda Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources , PSF , Rwanda Development Board (RDB), NIRDA, REMA, RSB , RTB who are conducting a study tour in . The team is visiting leather manufacturing industries and SMEs to benchmark from best practice in Ethiopia’s Leather Industry in order to strengthen productive capacities of leather manufacturing industries and SMEs in Rwanda.

Amb. Karamba spoke about the initiative and its intended outcomes within and promised all required support for the team to accomplish their mission and contribute to the capacity building of the leather value chain in Rwanda.
