At the German Embassy School Addis Ababa (DBSAA), ZANA is bringing a new football field into a high-performance sporting landscape designed to meet FIFA-standard specifications.

Every stage of the project is guided by a strong focus on precision, quality, and technical detailing.

And if you ask what was the biggest challenge along the way? The rainy season.

Working through challenging weather and changing site conditions has tested our ability to adapt, problem-solve, and maintain progress without compromising the quality of our work.

The project is still ongoing, and we’re continuing to shape the field, one detail at a time.

We are delighted to announce the professional relationship we are building with SASAKI, built around a shared interest in advancing landscape architecture, urban development, and meaningful public spaces in Ethiopia and across the region.

Established in the United States, SASAKI is internationally recognized as one of the world’s leading landscape architecture, urban design and architecture. Their work includes major developments worldwide, such as the master plan of the La Gare mixed use development in Addis Ababa by Eagle Hills, in collaboration with main consultant ZIAS, ZANA is proud to contribute to its landscape vision as Landscape Architects.

La Gare brings together landscape, mobility, public space, heritage, and urban development to create a more vibrant and connected city environment.

We value the professional relationship we are building with SASAKI and we look forward to exploring opportunities for future collaboration in Ethiopia and the broader African region, bringing together ZANA’s local and African experience and SASAKI's global planning and design expertise to create innovative, sustainable, and impactful environments.

La Gare Train Station Plaza stands as more than a landmark, it is a living memory of Ethiopia’s connection to movement, diplomacy, and modernity. Historic moments tied to the station’s legacy remind us that this space has long served as a gateway of stories, progress, and national identity.

Today, we are honored to contribute to the next era of this historic landmark plaza through our landscape design, currently under construction. A project by Eagle Hills, with ZIAS serving as the main consultant and the landscape design by ZANA and INsite, master plan by SASAKI, the design is shaped with deep respect for the station’s cultural significance, the statue of Lion of Judah's story and the generations who passed through its halls before us.

From historic journeys to future destinations, La Gare continues to move our history forward.

The inauguration of the Sarbet Plaza at Mohamedia Village is a powerful reminder that meaningful urban development is not just about infrastructure, it’s about creating spaces that bring people together, ease everyday life, and strengthen community bonds.

We’re proud to be the plaza and fountain designers under the main consultant ZIAS and have contributed to a vision where public and private sectors come together to shape a more livable and connected city.

We are proud to announce that the Sarbet Plaza and the Sales Center at Mohamedia project by MIDROC Investment Group ሚድሮክ ኢንቨስትመንት ግሩፕ have been officially inaugurated by Her Excellency w/o Adanech Abebe, Mayor Office of Addis Ababa. ZANA, as the landscape consultant of Mohamedia Village, is pleased to have designed the public plaza and fountain under ZIAS's leadership as the main consultant. The plaza not only serves the public but it is also a grand gateway to this transformative project.

Inspired by the traditional Ethiopian basket, called መሶብ, which brings people together, the design celebrates the cultural heritage through a contemporary plaza design blending intricate granite pavement patterns symbolic of the መሶብ color patterns, and the grand stairs that adopt seamlessly to the existing topography and symbolized by the strings መሶብ is made from.
