Chinese Communist Party Lauds Prosperity Party Reform Agenda
A high-level delegation from the Prosperity Party, led by Ato Nebiyu Sihul, Director General of International Relations at the party's Public and International Relations sector, is currently undertaking an official visit to the People's Republic of China.
In Beijing, the delegation held high-level consultations with the African Affairs Department of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), focusing on deepening party-to-party relations and strategic cooperation.
During the discussions, Ato Nebiyu Sihul emphasized that the governing philosophy of Medemer and the party's comprehensive programs constitute the foundational pillars of the economic and social transformation currently unfolding across Ethiopia.
He underscored the tangible successes of the Homegrown Economic Reform agenda, the integrated approach to urban and rural development, people-centered development initiatives, and the Green Legacy Initiative as demonstrable evidence of the party's ideological clarity and institutional capacity.
He further observed that the Green Legacy Initiative extends well beyond domestic development, serving as a strategic instrument in bolstering Ethiopia's diplomatic standing and soft power on the global stage.
Highlighting significant political milestones, Ato Nebiyu noted that Ethiopia has been selected to host the 2026 Conference of African Political Parties in Addis Ababa, with preparations for the landmark event already well underway.
In response, Ms. Riao Yuha, Director General of the CCP's African Affairs Department, who welcomed the delegation, expressed profound admiration for the transformative reforms being advanced by the Prosperity Party under the leadership of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD), guided by the vision of "A Strong Party for a Strong Government; A Strong Government for a Strong Nation."
Ms. Riao Yuha further reaffirmed her party's firm commitment to intensifying cooperation and strategic alignment with the Prosperity Party on matters of shared interest, underscoring the CCP's resolute stance on advancing bilateral party relations to a higher level.
On the first day of its itinerary, beyond the formal consultations, the delegation toured the Museum of the Chinese Communist Party—a repository chronicling the party's historic trajectory, accumulated experience, achievements, and challenges.
The visit provided an invaluable opportunity to examine how the CCP leverages its historical legacy to consolidate present gains and the strategic initiatives being deployed to realize its forward-looking vision.
Over the coming days, senior leaders from both parties are scheduled to engage in an intensive exchange program focused on sharing governance experiences and mutual institutional learning.
