The Association for Cultural Relations focuses on the promotion of culture within and beyond the borders of Finland. The main focus of the association is to foster intercultural dialogue, cooperation between intracultural entities, aiming to promote recognition and protection of cultural diversity, preserving tangible and intangible heritage, promotion of cultural values through all of its forms a

nd endorsement of Human Rights. The main objectives of the association is to participate in international projects, trainings and events of various topics in order to take benefits from valuable formal and non-formal education opportunities available for young people in Finland and abroad. The interdisciplinary leadership of the organisation combines experiences of civic involvement for democracy with intercultural expertise based on work and volunteering background and cooperation with local NGOs and educational institutions, governmental bodies, and diverse international partners.

We are happy to announce that ACR Finland partners in "NVC for Post Pandemic Youth Work" mobility project for youth workers.

This international project will develop competencies of youth workers to practice and embrace communication in a nonviolent way – observing and acknowledging own and others’ needs, recognising and expressing emotions, building peaceful relations with other coworkers and young people. The aim of the project is to prepare youth workers and leaders, project coordinators, to deal with post-pandemic situations of conflict, tension or misunderstanding in their work environment, where meaningful communication ways and reaching a compromise are needed for the common good, growth and harmonic co-being.

🇫🇮 🇩🇪 🇭🇺 🇮🇹 🇳🇱 🇸🇰 🇸🇪 🇹🇷 The project is partnered by 8 organisations from the European Union and Turkey. It is a special pleasure for us to have three organisations in the consortium that are members of the International Alliance for Cultural Relations along with our organisation.

We are delighted to announce that our association partners in "Revive Connection in European Youth Work" international youth workers mobility project by delegating 2 participants from Finland.

This partnership building activity will be organised by the International Alliance for Cultural Relations in Budapest 🇭🇺 and aims at fostering active citizenship and participation of young people in Europe and its neighbouring regions, especially in decision-making processes at local, national and European levels.

Including 20 partner organisations, one of the specific objectives of this project is to strengthen cooperation networks and develop new partnerships among youth stakeholders from the European Union, Southeast Europe and the Eastern Partnership regions, including cross-sectorial partnerships.

🇪🇺 The project will be implemented in 2021 and it is co-financed by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission.

The ACR is happy to announce to be part of another international project that is selected for funding under the Nordplus Adult programme.

🇩🇰 🇫🇮 🇳🇴 🇸🇪 In cooperation with three organisations, our association will carry out various activities within “Facilitating supportive spaces for migrant entrepreneurs” project. This multi-themed project aims to facilitate the link and transaction between education and the labour market through online courses, "storytelling" dinners and mentor days between July 2020 and June 2021.

Nordplus is the Nordic Council of Ministers' most important programme in the area of lifelong learning. More than 10,000 people in the Nordic and Baltic region benefit from it every year. The ACR is proud to be involved in a project that reaches 100 participants in 4 countries.

📢 The ACR Finland is looking for 3 participants for a training course held between 28 October - 3 November in Budapest, Hungary. 🇭🇺 Profile of participants: youth workers or young people, over 18, interested in the topic of the training. The aim of the activity is to empower and provide participants with theoretical knowledge and practical skills to design and implement strategies and to use culture for conflict resolution and for succeeding in cross-cultural dialogues.

Participants will be provided with accommodation with full board free of charge during the whole activity and travel expenses can be reimbursed up to 275 euro. The project is funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union and organised by the Institute for Cultural Relations Policy.

CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS FROM FINLAND

📢 The ACR Finland is looking for 6 participants for a youth exchange held between 2-9 October in Georgia. 🇬🇪 Age limit: 5 participants between 18-25 and a group leader over 18. The aim of the activity is to raise awareness of migration and human mobility.

Participants will be provided with accommodation with full board free of charge during the whole activity and travel expenses can be reimbursed up to 360 euro. The project is funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union and organised by the Institute for Cultural Relations Policy.

📢Open Call for 🇫🇮Finnish, or those who have residence in Finland to participate in the training course "The Power of Human Rights". TC will be held in 🇧🇪Lommel, Belgium between 🗓15-20 October.

🔵What does the Human Rights Training Course consist of?

➡️Education about Human Rights: To promote knowledge about what human rights are, what their meaning is, what values, principles and instruments support and protect them in a European level.
➡️Education through Human Rights: Learning through inclusive, participatory and democratic methods that respect both the rights of educators and the rights of learners.
➡️Education for Human Rights: Teach and learn in a way that allows the practice of human rights in daily life. Utilize and exercise your rights and respect and defend the rights of others.

Some photos of the second training of the "Build and Attend Peace" youth mobility project. This time our participants visited Budapest, Hungary. The project was hosted by ICRP, our sister organisation and was supported by Erasmus+ Programme 🇭🇺🇪🇺🇫🇮

Between 10-16 April the ICRP in cooperation with the Academy for Peace and Development (APD) implemented the second training of "Build and attend peace project that aimed to strengthen the competences of youth workers and youth educators in peace education for young people in order to empower young people to become pro-active agents of peaceful change via local community initiatives addressing societal conflicts.

🇪🇺 From 18 to 20 September 2019 the partnership between the European Commission and the Council of Europe in the field of youth will organise a symposium bringing together up to 120 participants to explore current tensions, questions, challenges and opportunities regarding the political participation of young people in today’s changing world and create a space for learning and inspiration among actors involved in this topic.
