SDP International Helsinki warmly invites you to join us for a festive Pre-Christmas gathering! 🎄

🗓 Date & Time: Tuesday, December 9th, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
📍 Location: Our cozy clubroom in Verkkosaari, at Verkkosaarenrata 4A, 00580 Helsinki (just a short walk from Kalasatama metro station)
👥 Who Can Attend: All SDP International members, SDP members, and anyone curious about our activities and community
ℹ Purpose: An opportunity to connect informally, build new friendships, and enjoy each other's company as we approach the holiday season

This will be a relaxed evening without formal presentations or tight schedules. We believe in creating genuine connections in a comfortable atmosphere. Light snacks and beverages will be provided, and we have a small kitchen available if you wish to bring your own food to share.

To SDP members in Vantaa and Kerava,

We are excited to invite you to the official founding meeting of a new party branch: SDP International Vantaa.

This new branch aims to bring together members with international backgrounds and those interested in multicultural issues. The purpose is to lower the barriers for political engagement, participation and integration. Please note that the official language of cooperation for this branch is English.
Your voice is valuable in building this new community!

Board Elections & Roles
A crucial part of the founding meeting is electing the first board to lead the branch. We are looking for enthusiastic members to fill the following positions:

Vice Chairperson
Secretary
Treasurer
Communication Officer
Event Manager
Membership Secretary

If you are interested in taking an active role, you are welcome to nominate yourself or suggest a fellow member for these positions during the meeting. No previous experience is required—just a willingness to participate!

How to arrive:
The meeting is held at the Helsinki district office in Hakaniemi.
Entry Instructions: The entrance is located on the Kallio Church side (near the Alko store entrance). In front of the door, you will see an SDP doorbell. Press the button, and the door will be opened for you. Take the elevator to the 6th floor; the door is on the left.

Members from different branches of SDP International and new members had a guided visit to the Finnish Parliament today. Where participants were hosted by MP . There was a nice exchange of ideas and nice discussions. SDP International provides a great opportunity for the international people in Finland to learn about Finland's political system and participate towards it. A historic moment for SDP International Network! 🌹

During the Annual General Meeting of Espoon Sosialidemokraattinen Yhdistys (ESY ry), a landmark decision was made, we have officially changed our name to SDP International Espoo.

This marks a major step forward in promoting inclusion and strengthening the political participation of immigrants within SDP. ✨

Greetings from 'Organization Days' hosted by SDP Helsinki and SDP Uusimaa at Hämeenkylä Manor. International members from SDP International, Leo and Nagi, attended the event and heard many known politicians talk alongside getting to know other comrades.

SDP International, in collaboration with .ry, had the privilege of organizing a guided tour to the Finnish Parliament Building. The visit was accompanied by members of SDP International, offering our participants an insightful opportunity to learn about Finland's political system, the rich history of the Parliament, and the democratic values that shape Finnish society.

One of the highlights of the tour was a meaningful discussion with the Communication specialist who happens to be the assistant of at the SDP Party Office inside the Parliament. The exchange covered a diverse range of topics and emphasized the importance of inclusion and political participation.

At SDP International, we are deeply committed to fostering awareness, inclusion, and active engagement among international residents in Finland 🇫🇮

It is with deep sadness that we mourn the passing of Eemeli Peltonen, a dedicated young parliamentarian whose life ended far too soon.

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time. May his memory continue to inspire compassion and dedication to the wellbeing of others.
