NAKOROTUBU SECONDARY SCHOOL RECEIVES SUPPORT FROM THE NARERE SANATAN GROUP FOUNDATION FIJI

The Nakorotubu Secondary School today received a significant boost to its learning environment following the handover of a multimedia projector and construction materials worth $30,000 from the Narere Sanatan Youth Group Foundation Fiji.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony, the Minister for Employment, Productivity and Workplace Relations, Hpn. Agni Deo Singh commended the Foundation for its generosity and community spirit in investing in the education of rural students.

The donated construction materials will be used to build two new classrooms, while the multimedia projector will enhance classroom teaching and learning by providing students and teachers with improved access to digital educational resources.

In another major contribution, the Foundation also provided 100 placements for students in need to receive exercise books for the 2027 school year, ensuring that disadvantaged students have the essential learning materials required to begin the academic year.

Addressing students, parents, teachers and community members, the Minister said the Foundation's contribution demonstrates how partnerships between community organisations and Government can create lasting opportunities for young people.

"Today's handover is more than the presentation of equipment and building materials. It is an investment in the future of our children and our nation. Every contribution towards education strengthens our future workforce and helps build a more productive Fiji."

The Minister highlighted the Government's continued commitment to ensuring that every child has access to quality education through comprehensive education assistance programmes.

"From Early Childhood Education right through to university, the Government continues to provide extensive educational support. The introduction of scholarships in place of student loans has opened greater opportunities for students to pursue higher education and achieve their aspirations."

He encouraged students to make the most of the opportunities available to them by remaining disciplined, respecting their teachers and parents, and working hard towards their goals.

"These resources have been provided for your benefit. Use them wisely, remain committed to your studies, and never stop believing in your potential."

The Minister also reminded students that success is not limited to traditional professions, encouraging them to consider technical and vocational education as valuable career pathways.

"Our country and the world need skilled tradespeople just as much as engineers, teachers and pilots. Technical and vocational careers offer excellent opportunities and play a vital role in national development."

Moreover, Minister Singh expressed sincere appreciation to the Narere Sanatan Youth Group for their generosity and commitment to improving educational opportunities for young Fijians.

"The Foundation's contribution will leave a lasting legacy for this school community and through such partnerships, this would ensure that every child has access to quality education and every opportunity to realise their full potential."
