CLEANUP WORKS BEGIN AT MALAU FFI COMPOUND.

The proposed Republic Of Fiji Military Forces Naval Division / RFMF Engineers Regiment forward base in MALAU is set to begin with renovation works late this year.

For the moment, engineering pers from 2 COMBAT Squadron, pers from Third Battalion Fiji Infantry Regiment Golf Coy in LABASA and Naval personnel have begun with the initial phase on cleanup.

COE CONDUCTS SITE VISIT TO NAKOROVOU VILLAGE PROJECT SITE.πŸ›οΈ

The Saint Theresa Catholic Church progress continues to baffle the ORC team. Being hours away from the urban centre and due to unpredictable weather conditions, a lot has changed from the previous ORC visit.

During the visit, the Commanding Officer LTCOL Mocelutu commended the team from 2 Combat Squadron on site for their dedication and progress as well as members of the community for their continued support to the team.

During the visit was also issued the newly issued pocket bibles from the Republic of Fiji Military Forces Chaplaincy Department

OFFICIAL HANDOVER OF DAKU VILLAGE EVACUATION CENTRE.

A memorable day for the villages of DAKU in the vicinity of Kia Island in Vanua Levu as the Commander Land Force BRIGGEN COVUNISAQA officiated the opening and Handover of the newly built Centre for the community.

The Centre will facilitate various village gatherings and also visitors coming into the shores.The project was funded by the community members whom have moved overseas as well as those in Suva and stands as a symbol of Unity and dedication when a community comes together.

The project took approximately 2 months 3 weeks to complete at a Budget of approximately $63,000.00.

Witnesses at the Occasion was the CO RFMF Engineers Regiment LTCOL MOCELUTU and 2IC Logistic Support Unit - RFMF MAJ COLATI with OC 2 Comabat Squadron CAPT TAGIVEITAUA and a number of pers from the military and the community.

At the inauguration, the Commander Land Force also handed over the official RFMF issued pocket bibles from the Republic of Fiji Military Forces Chaplaincy Department to the team and showed his appreciation towards a job well done.

The newly built structure sets as a testimony of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces committment towards Nation Building and Community Development.

The COE's Vanua Levu ORC visit was intercepted by the RFMF Deputy Commander Humphrey Tawake.

The Deputy Commander insisted in the COE and CLF's company in his visit to the new RFMF Naval & RFMF Engineers Regiment forward base in Malau.

The purpose of the visit was to see the current conditions of the buildings and discuss on cleanup works that can be done to support the RFMF's initiative.

The base, as already discussed in other social media platforms, will act as a Response unit for Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Relief (HADR), as well as respond to naval threats on our shores.

The date for renovation works will be confirmed once the area is cordoned and cleared of trees and plants.

RFMF Engineers Regiment Commanding Officer LTCOL Mocelutu accompanied by 2IC Logistic Support Unit - RFMF MAJ Colati conducts ORC at Savusavu project site.

The "Cakaudrove Provincial Council" is set to complete mid to late this year 2025.

A team of engineers from the 2 COMBAT and 1 CONSTRUCTION Squadron are currently in the finishing phase of the works and will most likely wrap up in the next quarterly ORC.

During the visit, the team were handed their newly RFMF issued pocket bibles from the Republic of Fiji Military Forces Chaplaincy Department as well as their new RFMFE all weather jackets.

The RFMF Engineers Regiment Commanding Officer LTCOL Mocelutu accompanied by the Commander Land Force BRIGGEN Covunisaqa and 2IC Logistic Support Unit - RFMF MAJ Colati conducted a site visit at all Project Sites in Vanua Levu

One of the First project sites was Ravuka Village in the province of Macuata.

Engineering pers from the 2 COMBAT squadron are currently undertaking the construction of the village Evacuation Centre which is set to complete late this year depending on the availability of materials and the weather.

During the visit, the team was given their newly RFMF issued pocket bibles from Republic of Fiji Military Forces Chaplaincy Department as well as their new RFMFE weather jackets.

The visit was to see to the welfare of the troops as well as discuss issues relating to the progress of the work as well as welfare and administratives.
