The Baseline Study research team for the Human Rights Commission Fiji is in the Northern Division this week carrying out community consultations.
These consultations are designed in talanoa style, posing guiding questions to communities on our understanding of children's rights, disability rights, experiences of children with disabilities in our communities. Carried out in Fiji Hindi and iTaukei languages, the team has been hearing from our people on what the situation is like in Fiji for children with disabilities. In addition to community consultations, the team have also been carrying out child/family interviews, with guidance from Frank Hilton Organization Fiji and the Fiji Disabled Peoples Federation.
Public submissions are also open to anyone who wishes to contribute to this first ever national study on the rights of children with disabilities. Link to Callout - https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/GJZJTF9
