📣 A Heartfelt Thank You to TSP Students in Pohnpei!
This April, our fire division had the incredible opportunity to welcome the enthusiastic students of the Talented Student Program (TSP) for a firsthand glimpse into the world of firefighting and wildfire education. We are truly honored to have hosted three separate visits, each packed with curiosity, energy, and learning!
✨ April 12, 2025
The first group joined us, featuring students from various high schools in Kolonia, with private and public school students from U, Nett, Sokehs, and Kolonia Town. This group particularly enjoyed exploring our building and learning about the history of our fire station. Their interest in how it all started made for some great discussions!
🌟 April 24, 2025
Next, we welcomed the second group of students from the Madolenihmw municipality, which including the high school of MHS, and some elementary students from Sapwalap and ESDM. Their excitement was contagious—they were thrilled by everything! A memorable moment was when our firefighters started doing pushups, which drew cheers and laughter. This group showed enthusiasm for all aspects of our work and brought such vibrant energy to the visit.
🎉 April 26, 2025
Finally, we hosted the last group, consisting of students from the Kitti municipality, students from NMHS high school. While all groups were fascinated by our equipment, this group got a special chance to see the full range of tools and gear we use during emergencies. I was also thrilled to teach a small wildfire education class to this group. They were incredibly attentive and engaged throughout, answering my questions with such enthusiasm—it was truly a joy to share my knowledge with them.
It has been a privilege to share knowledge about our vital role in emergency situations, the tools we use, and the importance of wildfire prevention. Your curiosity, enthusiasm, and commitment to learning have left a lasting impression on all of us.
Please be sure to like and share the photos we’ll be posting along with this message. We’d love for everyone to see the moments we shared together! 🚒🔥
Warmest regards,
Agent Poll, Baxter
