Exotic plants, water elements, small trails and bridges - some real stress relief! The Albert-Kahn museum and gardens in Boulogne-Billancourt are well worth a trip and will be enjoyed by the whole family!
Albert Kahn was a banker and a French philanthropist. Starting in 1909 he sponsored an ambitious project to capture people around the world in color photographs. He used his vast fortune to send photographers to over 50 different countries around the world collecting over 72,000 color photographs and 183,000 meters of film.
His collection is now considered the most important early color photograph collection in the world.
In 1983 Kahn purchased a large property in Boulogne-Billancourt, where he set out to create a garden that incorporated elements from all around the world.
Kahn lost his fortune during the Wall Street crash of 1929 and was left bankrupt. The gardens were turned into a public park where Kahn himself continued to take walks. Albert Kahn died on November 14th, 1940 during the N**i occupation of France.

The Philharmonie de Paris, a magical space which combines concert halls, exhibition spaces, rehearsal rooms, educational services, restaurant and bars. The main buildings are all located in the Parc de la Villette at the northeastern edge of Paris in the 19th arrondissement. A stunning design of the symphonic concert hall of 2,400 seats (designed by Jean Nouvel and opened in January 2015) will leave you under impressions. Its construction had been postponed for about twenty years to complete the current musical institution la Cité de la Musique designed by Christian de Portzamparc and opened since 1995. Mainly dedicated to symphonic concerts, the Philharmonie de Paris also present other forms of music such as jazz and world music. Next week it will host Benjamin Clementine!

"Visitors to the Petit Palais are invited to discover, for the first time in France, the work of the extraordinary artist, Kuniyoshi (1797-1861). Thanks to generous loans from Japan, supplemented by loans from French institutions, the 250 works on display will give a full picture of Kuniyoshi’s dramatic genius and the expressive beauty of his work. The exhibition will explain the function of the imagery and its importance in Japanese culture. Kuniyoshi’s work has had an enormous influence on manga art and tattooing.

Kuniyoshi was an almost exact contemporary of Eugène Delacroix but, in the West, he never achieved the fame of Hokusai or Utamaro. Perhaps because of its nonconformist quality, his work was not taken up in Europe during the late 19th-century vogue for decorative Japanese art, although it was much admired by Monet and Rodin. His prints are characterised by originality in their inspiration and composition, violence in the monster and warrior prints, and humour in the Chinese shadows series, the caricatures and his representations of the life of cats."

Musée Zadkine

Just as Chagall, born in Vitebsk (today-Belarus), Ossip Zadkine moved to Paris in 1910. We all know about Rodin, Brancusi, some of us heard about Bourdelle, but few of us are familiar with Zadkine's sculptures.
Yet he is one of the most famous sculptors of the 20th century and one of the biggest representatives of the School of Paris in the field of sculpure.
His house and studio were turned into a museum opened to the public by the City of Paris in 1982.
So take some time to admire his voluptuous wooden, stone or bronze figures that almost fell asleep in the atelier were they were created.
