Located on a hillside near Colares, in the heart of the Cascais-Sintra Natural Park, Casal Santa Maria has an amazing view of the most western vineyards of Europe, picturesque villages, and the ocean.
This family winery was founded by a Swiss, Baron Bodo Von Bruemmer, who developed winemaking at Casal Santa Maria from scratch.
Today, the winery produces several European varietals including Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir which strive in this unique terroir between the Atlantic ocean and the mountains of Sintra.
For those of you who like rose wines, this is a place to visit. The delicate Mar de Rosas, a bit salty on the palate, was named the best rose in Portugal in 2018.
Your tasting will be guided by a winemaker Antonio who works at Casal Santa Maria for more than 20 years.
