From November 26 to 29, 2025, African Peace and Security Union , participated in the 9th annual Tropics Summit & Countrie Showcase, held on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa. This high-level event has established itself as the strategic pan-African hub where sustainable investments, transcontinental alliances, and new pathways to inclusive growth converge.

In this context, the Tropics Summit & Countries Showcase 2025 is positioned at the heart of multilateral commitments and strategic dialogues: between governments (G2G), by facilitating intergovernmental exchanges and policy coordination; between the public and private sectors (PPP), by fostering concrete synergies and secure investment frameworks; and between economic actors (B2B), by connecting investors, businesses, and entrepreneurs

The African Peace and Security Union extend it's warmest congratulations to President Cyril Ramaphosa and the entire G20 South Africa team for the resounding success of this historic event, which marks the first G20 summit held on African soil and demonstrates that Africa has the potential to be the next engine of global growth.

The G20 comprises 19 countries and the European Union & African Union, representing the world's largest economies. Its members – Africa, Germany, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States and the European Union – collectively represent more than 80% of global GDP, 75% of international trade and two-thirds of the world's population, making the G20 a crucial forum for international and economic cooperation.

On the sidelines of the G20 Summit of Heads of State and Government, and within the framework of economic diplomacy, African Peace and Security Union Chairperson H.E Roll Stephane Ngomat is participating in the G20/B20 side event, which brings together diplomats and business leaders from the economic and financial sectors of the G20 countries.

Under the theme “The Cooperation Agenda: Inclusive Growth for a Changing World,”

His Excellency President Cyril in his closing remark reiterated the priorities championed during South Africa’s G20/B20 Presidency, explaining how government and businesses can translate these commitments into a concrete program for growth and cooperation.

“The work accomplished by the G20/B20 demonstrates that Africa has the potential to be the next engine of growth. We must therefore place Africa at the heart of global opportunities,” was the message of chairperson to the G20 leaders.
