Today's training was a journey day to retain 4x4 driving skills, familiarisation with some of the tracks in our patch and had a few surprise scenarios thrown in for good measure. A good day!

This lovely pooch was wandering outside the Tarmachan Café in Crathie when the Team were finished training today and having a well earned piece. Hopefully they find their human, café staff had taken them in.

We've just passed the equinox, so it seems like a good time for a reminder that the hours of darkness are longer, the temperatures are likely to be lower and the weather less benign. Please pack and plan appropriately.

This is also a good time to look over winter kit in case anything needs to be repaired or replaced before the season starts properly. Enjoy and stay safe.

The team were out on Bennachie again yesterday, this time supporting Garioch RoadRunners 2026 Bennachie Hill Race.
Well done to all that took part and a special congratulations to our very own Phil for his second place finish overall. Great Effort!

On Tuesday we were delighted to meet Alan and Alison and accept a very generous donation from Rotary in Westhill & District. Your support is greatly appreciated 🙏

Our Team consists entirely of volunteers and relies on donations from the public in order to continue our service of search and rescue operations in and around Grampian and the Cairngorms. We are grateful for any funds donated, be they large or small.

❌❌ Event Cancelled ❌❌

We are extremely saddened to have had to make the difficult decision to cancel our Annual Event on Saturday 12th September 2026 due to lower than expected entries 😔

This decision was not taken lightly and we are truly grateful for the support of those who had entered. Our goal has always been to create a meaningful and engaging experience for everyone involved, and we feel it’s important to ensure that any event we host meets that standard.

If you have already purchased tickets we will be in touch shortly by email to arrange a full refund or discuss alternative ways your contribution could support our cause. We deeply appreciate your understanding and continued support for Aberdeen Mountain Rescue Team. Thank you for standing with us — your kindness and generosity truly make a difference and we are sorry to disappoint you.

Whilst this event will not go ahead as planned, we are already exploring new opportunities to connect with the local community.
