A victory for the rule of law - and a victory for the cause of tolerance on campus: One of the perpetrators of January's violence towards Jewish students at King's College, has been found guilty of assault.

Students of all backgrounds should feel free and safe to openly profess any faith or personal belief. It is for this reason that in 21st century Britain, January's violence will always be a stain on the good name of King's College - especially when so many of the perpetrators remain undiscovered and unpunished.

BISI will continue to defend minority students whenever the need arises - and we thank supporters of our work from across the world for their kind encouragement.

BISI, like all others committed to tolerance on campus, are outraged by the revelations of rampant antisemitism at the Oxford University Labour Club (OULC).

Antisemitism must never be tolerated - and we expect the Labour Party and Oxford University will swiftly and appropriately respond to this problem and punish the perpetrators.

The Multi Faith Centre at the University of Derby is running a 7 part series entitled ‘Encountering’ which provides an opportunity to experience informal visits to different places of worship in and around Derby and discover more about faith and festivities. BISI would like to thank everyone, from across the world, who have sent us kind words of encouragement and support. We are thrilled that our initiative is so popular with so many people of all beliefs and nationalities who care deeply about free speech on campus.

We would like to clarify that our video, which has been seen by nearly 20,000 people, was not created by KCL Israel Society, and specifically not by the society's co-president, Esther Endfield, whose comment (which is widely quoted in the press) is read out by a BISI member.

We would like to reiterate that BISI is a new initiative primarily concerned with promoting tolerance on campus.
