March Highlights from Alvescot Parish Council
Following last month's consultation on car parking, the Parish Council has agreed that neither of the options for increasing permanent parking will be adopted. Alternative solutions for managing pressures on the car park during the school day will be pursued with the school.
The County Council is consulting Parish Councils on an updated local transport plan. APC will submit comments. The plan goes to wider public consultation in May.
The pavements between the war memorial to the Plough and to the Church have been cleaned by the Parish Council.
The County Council has been asked to flush the drain in Lower End which was affected by a leak of domestic heating oil late last year.
Road closure. A reminder that the B4477 into Carterton between the Kencot turn and Upavon Way will continue to be closed for works until 18 April.
The next village litter pick will be held on the morning of Saturday 25 April.
The village hall is organising a bingo night on Saturday 18 April. Details are on the website https://alvescotvillage.co.uk/ .
Alvescot Village Association has received no offers of help to organise a village fete and consequently there will sadly be no fete this year.
