Trusting his instincts helped save a life.

When a driver was found seriously ill at the roadside, Private Dan Montgomery didn’t drive past. He stopped, called for help, moved her to safety, stayed by her side for more than two hours until emergency services arrived

For his compassion, professionalism and selfless actions, the Military Provost Guard Service soldier has been awarded the Catterick Garrison Commander’s Commendation 👏

AI is changing warfare. We're training to stay ahead 🪖 🧑‍💻

Captain Harry Shilley of 30 Signal Regiment, Royal Corps of Signals has been recognised at the National AI Awards 2026 for his work on SecAI-TAK (Securing AI Systems for Tactical Awareness Kit).

Developed by a team of just four people, this innovative training challenge exposes the risks of AI exploitation in operational environments. The project has helped train more than 2,500 personnel from 26 allied nations 🌍

Exercise Cambrian Patrol is well underway 💪

It's one of our most demanding and respected training exercises, held annually in the testing terrain of the Welsh hills and mountains.

Teams from the UK Armed Forces compete alongside international military personnel. They take part in a gruelling patrol exercise that tests leadership, navigation, physical endurance and teamwork under realistic field conditions.

The exercise has built a strong international reputation over the years, with participating nations viewing success at Cambrian Patrol as a mark of real operational capability. It's a fantastic example of Wales playing host to a world-class military event, and a chance to recognise the dedication and skill of all those taking part.
