New figures show women are less likely than men to receive bystander CPR as many "feel unsure about touching a woman's chest", an ambulance service has revealed.

Appreciation post: Kate from
Has supported us from the beginning of and we think she's awesome! ♥️

Here's what she had to say:
I started working at Kall Kwik printing in Ashford in 1998, and took over the business in 2021. It was a big step, but it’s been an incredible journey of growth, learning, and resilience. Being a woman in business has taught me the power of determination, creativity, and community.

Customer service is at the heart of everything we do at Kall Kwik, and helping brings customers ideas to life whilst building relationships brings us great joy.

This International Women’s Day, I’m proud to celebrate the journey so far and all the amazing women building, leading, and supporting each other every day around Ashford and beyond!

They really are the backbone of everything! Whether it’s a biological mum, a grandmother, an aunt, or a mentor or friend who stepped into that role, that kind of unconditional support is invaluable.
The "role" of a mother, it's about who shows up, listens, and offers that specific kind of nurturing guidance.

Happy mother's day!
And if this is a hard day for you, know we are with you and you are loved.

✨ Celebrating the Magic Behind the Screen: Caroline! ✨

Behind every vibrant post, every insightful story, and every connection we make here at Woman Up Ashford, there is one powerhouse making it all happen: 🪄

Caroline is the creative engine behind our digital world. She doesn't just "post"—she builds a platform that honours and elevates female-led businesses and initiatives across our community. Caroline also helps shape our events, supports as many as she can and does so voluntarily!

❤Why we’re celebrating her today:
The Ultimate Connector: She works tirelessly to ensure our followers stay informed and engaged with everything we do.

❤A Champion for Women: From highlighting local entrepreneurs to promoting our latest events, she keeps the focus on celebrating women and girls.

❤Creative Vision: She keeps our platforms looking vibrant and feeling like a true home for our mission.

Caroline, thank you for your endless energy and for making sure our voice is heard loud and clear. We wouldn’t be where we are without your dedication! 🥂💖

Reclaim the Sky

Sometimes
the world feels heavy
with injustice.

When we are thrust
into perpetual midnight
we must rise
like stars
bright scars in the dark
warrior constellations
remarkable and strong

No single star should be expected
to shoulder the burden alone.
There is strength in sisterhood.
Where there are women
there is magic.

We intend to live forever
or die trying
brave and bold as fire
rising higher and higher
stronger than we think
I believed
you believed
she believed she could
so she did.

When the world hurls its spears
hope lifts us higher
leans us towards heaven
to be seen
to be loved
our heads held high
not just surviving but
thriving.

We’ve got this
but no-one sees the effort it takes
for a star to shine
through pressure and time.
We forget to remember
the power within
not too much or too little
enough to keep going through
the darkest nights.

Let it simmer.

Darkness is only temporary.
A shadow that slips
a night that drips away
when we become
the person our younger selves
would run to
when we talk to ourselves like
a best friend; when we
keep going
keep laughing
stay true to who we are.
When we tell ourselves we have
the right to live safely.

Women are cool.
We were born to be:
women with minds
girls with attitude
ladies with class
the best versions of ourselves
at last.

We have the power to
light up the night
and set fire
to the world.
