Google want to build a high polluting Data Centre on the site of Arena Essex. These data centres produce several hundred thousand tonnes of carbon dioxide, a year. Thurrock council gives notice to prohibit any vehicle from travelling along Purfleet Road from its junction
with Mill Road for a distance of approx. 1.2km in a westerly direction.

It is with great sadness that we hear of the passing of our very own “Mr Aveley”, Bob Hanton.

Bob was a true village legend – one of the kindest, gentlest and friendliest people you could ever have the privilege to meet. His dedication, passion and unwavering commitment to Aveley touched so many lives, and our community is all the better for everything he did.

Thank you, Bob, for all you gave to our village over the years. Your legacy will live on, and you will never be forgotten.
