On Monday, we launched our Accessible Manifesto Tracker for the Scottish Parliament election 2026. While there has been some progress, significant gaps remain.

Accessible formats should be available at the same time as the main manifesto, not added later.

Our updated tracker shows:
• Some parties have added formats, but availability is still limited
• There is still no British Sign Language (BSL) provision from any party
• Access remains inconsistent across the board

This means many disabled voters are still not getting information at the same time as others.

Everyone should have equal access to information to make informed choices.

South Ayrshire Access Panel (SAAP) are offering a free excursion to Dundonald's garden centre and cafe on 27/5 thanks to funding from . Anyone with disability needs is very welcome- we can take 10 persons on the Community Transport who can bring wheelchairs, walkers or other aids and/or carer. This trip is for those based in Ayr or Prestwick. Further trips will run for those from Troon and Girvan/Maybole as the weather warms. Our final one will be a Christmas shopping trip to Cumnock's factory outlet. To register interest for any of these please email [email protected].

DO YOU FANCY AN OUTING C/O AGE CONCERN AND SAAP?
We are absolutely delighted to share that we have received funding from Age Concern Ayr through their Small Project Development Fund
Thanks to their generous support, we will be delivering quarterly social and wellbeing outings for people aged 55+ living in South Ayrshire, particularly those experiencing disability, physical ill health, or emotional and mental health challenges.
This funding will help us provide accessible transport, supported activities, and safe opportunities for older people to connect, reduce isolation, and enjoy meaningful time together.
Loneliness can have a significant impact on wellbeing — and this grant will make a real difference in helping people feel included, valued, and part of their community.
A huge thank you to Age Concern Ayr for investing in older people across South Ayrshire. We look forward to sharing updates as the project progresses! , travel, care
