πŸ‘‚ You spoke. We listened. We acted.
A family contacted Llais with concerns about access to rechargeable hearing aids for a disabled adult with complex needs.

After raising the issue with BCUHB and working closely with the Health Board:
βœ”οΈ The case was reviewed
βœ”οΈ Records were updated
βœ”οΈ Reassurance was provided about ongoing access to suitable support

As a result, the family received reassurance that appropriate hearing support is likely to continue and that their concerns had been listened to and acted upon.

πŸ’š Your voice matters. Together, we can help improve health and social care services.

πŸ’¬ Turning insight into action

Last week, we shared our report highlighting the experiences of Welsh speakers using health and social care services across Wales.

People told us that being able to speak Welsh helped them feel understood, respected and involved in decisions about their care. Others described the challenges they faced when Welsh language services weren't available.

Today, we're pleased to share that Llais has signed a new Welsh Language Pledge with the Welsh Government as part of Mwy na geiriau.

The pledge sets out how we'll work together to strengthen Welsh language provision across health and social care, support the Active Offer, and ensure the experiences of Welsh speakers continue to inform improvement.

This is an important step forward, but it's also a reminder of why listening matters. The experiences shared in our recent report will help shape the work we do through this partnership.

Everyone should be able to receive care in the language that feels right for them.

Follow the links in the comments to read our pledge and the spotlight report πŸ‘‡

Preparatory works have begun on the Royal Alexandra Hospital site. This includes installing facilities for the contractors and new arrangements for parking. Accessible parking for Blue Badge holders only is now available outside the main entrance to the hospital.

Those attending outpatient appointments will receive instructions in their appointment letters around how to access free, off-road parking for the duration of their visit.

You can keep up to date with developments, including any potential minor disruptions to roads access around the site, by visiting our development update page here: https://bcuhb.nhs.wales/news/updates-and-developments/developments/royal-alexandra-hospital-development/

We're inviting families across North Wales to share their experiences of pregnancy, birth and postnatal care through a series of questionnaires sent by text message.

Your feedback is an important part of the All-Wales Perinatal Engagement Framework Commitments and helps us understand what's working well and where we can improve our services.

βœ… How you can help:

β€’ Make sure we have your current mobile phone number on our records

β€’ Keep an eye out for a text message containing the questionnaire

β€’ Take a few minutes to complete it when it arrives

Every response makes a difference and helps shape maternity and neonatal services across North Wales.
