Important news for Community and Voluntary Organisations. Please see information below:-

The Neighbourhood Spring 2026 (NCIL) is now open for community and voluntary organisations, not for profit companies and registered charities to apply. This is a fantastic £15,000 opportunity for groups to improve their credibility, visibility as well as making a real difference in their communities with their projects and initiatives.

It would be amazing if a group or organization in Heath Ward can benefit from the fund, you can use the link here – https://oneboroughvoice.lbbd.gov.uk/neighbourhood-fund-ncil-autumn-2026-application
Also attached is the new updated guidance document.

NCIL is an innovation fund, therefore it cannot fund any projects that have been funded before. The application submission closing date is on Sunday 18th October at 17:00 p.m.
Should you require further information please do not hesitate to contact [email protected].

Good luck

Meeting this evening with our local Barking & Dagenham Police Area Inspector for updates on anti-social behaviour, VAWG, patrols and hotspots in Heath ward. Some fantastic work done by the team locally to engage with residents and businesses, but feedback was given that you have raised to us.

We will continue to support and work with local police to ensure that our residents feel safe and supported in the community.

Just a reminder that you can keep up to date with the work of the local Safer Neighbourhood Team at https://www.metengage.co.uk/Content/LocalArea/79522/Heath

A nice busy Saturday today:

💭 Heath Ward Surgery this morning speaking to residents about their concerns and any issues.

🚔 Spoke to some residents including our fantastic Ward Panel Chairs at Heath Park Community Centre who updated us about the Heath Ward SNT meeting earlier this week.

🙌 Helped a resident in Newbury Close with an issue in their home.

🚗 Visited the cul de sac on Trefgarne Road to assess the parking situation there and need for double yellow line extensions which have been requested by residents.

💡Spoke to some residents on Trefgarne Road to see if a reported broken street light had been working again - it has which is great and a nice little win!

🛒 Visited the owners of Makola Market London and Koni’s Kitchen to speak about support locally for small businesses.

🅿️ Although not in Heath Ward we visited the Wantz Road car park which has closed again - we will be writing to the Council on behalf of the businesses in Oxlow Lane to ascertain how we can support them with reopening the car park.

Want to speak to us as residents or for visit your small business? Get in touch!

Today was the Heath Ward walkabout with Council officers and councillors.

During the walkabout we highlighted fly-tipping hotspots, abandoned vehicles, concerns around alleyways, and a number of housing casework issues that will now be followed up with the relevant teams.

It was also a great opportunity to engage with residents about anti-social behaviour prevention and wider community concerns. These conversations are invaluable in helping us identify priorities and ensure action is taken.

It was great to see the Council’s roving fly-tipping team out too, helping keep Heath clean. We are also aware of the ongoing issues around the clothing donation bin, where fly-tipping continues to be a persistent problem. This is firmly on our radar, and we’ll be raising it with Public Realm to explore a longer-term solution.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to speak with us.
