Thank you to everyone who turned up to yesterdays PACT meeting. It was agreed that the priorities for the next 8 weeks will be ASB vehicle use in Dearne North and Dearne South, and also looking at theft from businesses in the area. We are currently working our way through the other actions that were raised and will be in touch with each person when we have the appropriate information to relay.

In the meantime, please continue to report ASB and nuisance vehicles through 101, or 999 in an emergency situation. The more information we get, the easier it is for us to be able to act on your concerns. This can also be reported anonymously through the Council Website, or alternatively Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111

Last week, our response colleagues managed to catch up with the unlucky balaclava'd up rider of this Sur-Ron bike.

First spotting him riding on Thurnscoe Bridge Lane, they snook up on him on Bank End Close, where, following a short foot chase, they managed to catch up with him and seize his bike.

He will now be prosecuted for driving with no licence and no insurance and driving without due care ๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿฝ ๐Ÿšฒ

Yesterday our officers took part in Barnsley's Operation Hawthorne, aimed at enhanced engagement with rural communities ๐Ÿšœ

We visited a number of farms, residential properties and businesses, along with colleagues from our Motorcycle and Rural Crime Team and Barnsley Council Wardens, taking the opportunity to discuss issues within those communities and offer crime prevention advice.

We also carried out a waste carrier operation along with BMBC Wardens, checking that waste carrier vehicles on the roads held the necessary licence.

We were also joined by colleagues from our Road Policing Group, who issued 6 Traffic Offence Report (1 x mobile phone, 3 x no MOT, 1 x due care, 1 x no insurance), and from our Safer Camera Partnership who detected 13 speeding offences during the day.

Last but not least, our BMBC Warden colleagues also rescued 2 neglected puppies ๐Ÿถ

All in all, it was a very successful day ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™‚๏ธ

As the weather is set to get warmer again, you may be tempted to leave windows open throughout the day, even if you are leaving your house for work or to nip out to the shops.

Burglars will be looking for easy targets and an open window may provide this.

We recommend ensuring all your doors and windows are closed and locked if you are leaving your home, even for a short period of time or sitting enjoying some sun in your back garden.

If you see anything that is suspicious, or something that concerns you, please report it to us so we can investigate.

It's been a busy weekend for your Barnsley Southeast Neighbourhood Policing Team.

โœ”๏ธ A local female who had managed to evade arrest for nearly 8 months was apprehended and dealt with.

โœ”๏ธAnother female who was wanted on a Warrant was tracked to an address and arrested to appear before the courts

โœ”๏ธA male was arrested for recall to prison, where he will serve the remaining months of his license

โœ”๏ธTo end the night, officers managed to locate and arrest a local male who was circulated as wanted for 19 x Theft from Shop within the Dearne area

โœ”๏ธThrow in a vehicle seized for driving without insurance and another seized whilst assisting the council with someone wanted for fly tipping in the area, and it's not just been the nice weather causing us to sweat! ๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™‚๏ธ ๐Ÿ‘ฎ ๐Ÿš”

A Barnsley thief has been put behind bars following a string of offences.

Between April and May, Paul Wake stole items from multiple shops around the town, worth over ยฃ140. Items included alcohol, food and laundry products.

All incidents were captured on CCTV, and through work completed by our District Support Hub, Wake was identified as the suspect in all cases. It was also identified that Wake was in breach of his Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO)

The 48-year-old was promptly arrested and charged with five counts of shoplifting and three counts of breaching a CBO.

Wake, of Rufford Avenue, plead guilty to all offences at Barnsley Magistrates' Court yesterday (12 May) and was handed a 12-month sentence.

Our work continues around shoplifting and those who choose to breech their CBOs. If we see offences happening, report it to us so we can investigate accordingly.
