Some important notes for the Medieval Fair on Saturday 5 September

Please note that free entry ONLY includes residents of LA13, LA14, LA15 and LA16. This is due to council changes. Unfortunately some places previously regarded as “Barrow council tax” areas are no longer accepted. These include Lindal, Marton, Ireleth, Leece and Scales

We apologise for this but it is out of our hands

The Furness Abbey car park is for drop off and blue badge holders only.

The free shuttle bus will start at the Dock Museum at 10am dropping off at the Abbey car park. Last bus returns at 5pm
There will be a driver’s break at mid-day (time will be posted at the Dock Museum stop)

Be aware that there are road works down Rating Lane but access to Sixth Form car park will be open

Please be polite with our staff and volunteers as they will assist with any issues

Finally, we politely request a small donation of £2.50 per adult as this is an event and it goes towards next year’s fair. You will find buckets with our volunteers at the entrance and in our stall-we can also take card payments

Its coming home… or something like that! Two weeks and it will be here! Furness Abbey Fellowship Medieval Fair! Saturday 5 September 10am until 5pm .

Free parking at Barrow Sixth Form College

Free shuttle bus from Dock Museum

Blue badge parking and drop off only at Furness Abbey car park!

Free entry with proof as LA13, LA14, LA15 and LA16 council tax payer

EH members Free

Usual entry fee applies to everyone else

A £2.50 donation is requested from all adults to allow us to fund next years fair

We have an excellent tombola and craft stall at the Dock Museum! Come and support us and the amazing Barrow Bid Team who put on this event

Iron Shepherds our friends are returning! They were with us from the very first Medieval Fair in 2013 and always provide an amazing spectacle!

Only 3 weeks until we are back at Furness Abbey for the Furness Abbey Fellowship Medieval Fair. Always a great event, we can't wait!

We are looking for volunteers to help with the Medieval fair this year. Set up is Friday 4th September starting at ten

We need people to man the car park at Sixth Form College and the abbey car park

Other activities need volunteers too

The Medieval Fair is one month away! It is always a pleasure organising this event and we will welcome some old faces once again. Its a great family day so don’t miss out!
SATURDAY 5th September 10am until 5pm
Free entry to English Heritage Members, and council tax payers from LA13,14,15 and 16

Parking at Sixth Form College
Drop off and Blue Badge holders only at the abbey car park (places not guaranteed)

A donation of £2.50 from adults is politely requested as we use this to help fund next year’s fair

Our third craft seasion was really fun! Every single mouse monk was different and we had a few laughs making them! Thanks to Maggie Turbitt who led the class! Great fun!
