Well it’s an early start with me off for conference at the NEC in Birmingham primarily to continue my work in updating the national party on matters affecting Basingstoke.

I was expected to travel up but the Environment & Infrastructure Committee had a meeting and I needed to attend and listen to that and also put in my two Penny worth in relation to water supply and sewage provision plus the building fest that the government have demanded that this Council and the residents take, despite the fact that we do not have the ability to in effect do what they are instructing us to do.

Work definitely to be continued.

I have been on exercise with the Nepalese Gurkha British Forces service personnel, their skills and commitment are held in the highest regard by all who see them in uniform doing the job.

The disaster that has befallen their home nation is the catalyst for this post.

There are a range of charities asking for your money to help out. PERSONALLY (and I accept not in all cases), the percentage of donated money evaporating before it hits the issue concerned is very high.

A quick update from me whilst I’m at Portchester Castle with my granddaughter, thought I’d record as she eats an ice cream.

SNG have a meeting in a couple of weeks time with Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council Cllrs and others, on Monday 10th September, the subject will be damp and mold. If you are an SNG residents, anywhere in the borough but predominantly South Ham, please get in touch so I can tell them about residents’ experiences firsthand.

Here is little addition and pointer to the earlier information I posted on HMO’s.

Concern exists, we all know this…but, at least the Government has finally dipped its toe into this burning issue

What we must now do is with cool heads consider the facts as we know them.

Any issues raised by the governments late acknowledgement that manifest themselves here, put them into the police, CPSO’s, the council or your councillor.
