We had a lovely day at Heeleys - Batley Artisan market some very lovely stalls as well. We will be at Heeleys All about Me Market on the 11th of july. The very talented dancers from the Vintage day event will be there also. Please do come along and show support for Heeleys and the lovely things they are doing for Batley. We will once again have poppies to colour and pop bottle bottoms to colour so we can display them on netting around Heeleys showcasing all the contributions from children and adults of the community. The netting for the cenotaph will be with us also for anyone who wants to sew a poppy to that. With the communitys help we aim to make the displays for remembrance bigger and better every year.

We are happy to say we will be at this Market with a stall. The 2nd netting for the cenotaph will be with us so if anyone wants to come and sew on a poppy or 2 we will be very grateful. If you have any poppies knitted/crocheted you can hand them to us at the market also. We will also have pop bottle bottoms to colour in to poppies and paper poppies to colour to add to a 3rd netting displayed at Heeleys - Batley on their fencing showcasing the wonderful work and support of the community. We look forward to seeing you there

Over the years the branch has become alot smaller. In order to continue doing what we do and helping local veterans we need to recruit more members. We are currently looking for a Chairman/woman and a secretary in order to keep the branch open and functioning. We would also love to see more members join and share new ideas on ways we can fundraise and continue supporting the local community. Membership starts from £22 one payment for the year. Junior membership is free. We hope we can see more members joining before the branch vanishes.

Looking forward to seeing people at Heeleys VE day celebrations 10-3 and hopefully the weather will decide it really wants to be warm and dry. There will be music and dancing (not by me that wouldnt be good funny but not good lol) as well as food and stalls so something for everyone

We will be at Heeleys - Batley VE day vintage market. We will have the poppy netting if anyone wants to sew on a poppy, we have poppies to colour for younger children which we laminate and then display on more netting around town and if we can find a safe suitable way to paint pop bottle bottoms into poppie sthey will be there too. We will also have some pens, wristbands jewellery etc to help raise funds for keeping the project going as well as few planes and a mini tank that has been crocheted available if anyone fancies one for themselves. These are not suitable as toys for young children because of small parts but a cute display item.
We look forward to seeing you all there

We will be at Batley British Legion meeting this evening 7:15pm at batley community centre. It is a great opportunity to find out what the British legion does and ask any questions you may have. We will be available to ask us any questions you have about the project and give us any ideas you think will make the project even better. We cannot do this without the communities help. If you have any poppies and are in the area you are welcome to drop them in to us along with any double knitting red wool that we can pass on to our lovely crochet and knitters who are making poppies for us.
