Information from North Yorkshire Council Highways: The A684 will be closed on both sides of the A1(M) on Wednesday (17th), from Bedale roundabout to Springhill Farm roundabout, for carriageway rejuvenation. Diversion via Aiskew and Leeming village. Treatment is weather dependent and therefore some adjustments to any confirmed schedules may be required.

The Restriction will be in place for a period of 9 hours between 09:00-18:00 on 17th June 2026

We’re so excited to be back in Bedale this Sunday 14 June from 10am - 3pm!

Join us in Market Place for another fantastic day filled with amazing local traders, delicious food, and a warm Yorkshire welcome.

There’s also plenty of excitement in town with the Bedale Bolt 10K taking place on Sunday, bringing runners and supporters together for a brilliant community event.

Supporting small businesses and bringing people together is at the heart of what we do, and we’re so grateful to be growing the market as part of your local community.

Bedale carboot sale on Saturday 13th June will have sufficient toilet facilities. The ladies toilet will be open plus there will be about 10 portaloos on site.

Map of Bedale Businesses

Bedale and Villages Community Forum is creating a professionally designed map to encourage visitors to explore the area while helping residents discover and support local businesses.

Customer-facing businesses in Bedale and surrounding villages can be featured on the map for a small fee (current estimate £40). Around 7,000 copies will be printed and distributed locally and further afield, with a digital version also available on the Forum website.

Each featured business will receive:
• A location pin on the map
• Business name
• A short description (up to 10 words)
• Your preferred contact details

SERVICE UPDATE - Sunday 14th June

Bedale 10k

Procters Wensleydale Flyer 856 will be diverted on the 0930 trip from Northallerton.

Buses will divert from Leeming Bar McDonalds via Bedale by-pass and will not serve stops in Aiskew or Bedale.

Should the road remain closed longer than anticipated the 1115 trip from Hawes back to Northallerton may also need to follow the same diversion.

🛍️Sunday Market from Real Markets, a quality makers market on the second Sunday of every month
🛍️Many of our fantastic independent shops open as well!
🗺️And Bedale Tourist Information Centre to give you all the info you need for a great day in town.

🚗Please note that North End / Market Place from the Golf Club to Masham Road, and the race route (Masham Rd, Burrill Road, out to Burrill / Cowling / Scroggs Ln, back on Burrill Rd again) will be closed to traffic from 9.30am-12.30pm to allow the race to take place safely. Parking available on Bedale Park (Golf Club entrance) and both Bridge Street car parks.

Hope you’re all okay on this very wet miserable morning. This Sunday 14th June I will be attending my first ever real markets event. I’m really looking forward to doing this as it’s close by for me.
 so if you’re not doing anything on Sunday, pop down, have a look what people have got to offer as the lovely stalls producing good quality stuff.
I will be taking all my dog leads, lead ropes, cattle halters and skipping ropes
