Please be aware that bin collections may start earlier this week

Due to the predicted high temperatures and the amber heat health alert in place for our area, some of our bin collection crews may be starting rounds from 5.30am this week to give them more time to collect while it's a little cooler.

We usually ask you to have your bins out by 6am on the day of collection, but please make sure your bins are out by 5.30am this week so they are ready for collection.

We appreciate that not everyone uses social media, so please pass this message on to any friends, neighbours or relatives who may need to know.

🌹Out canvassing today on Huntington Road, and Harter Road area speaking with local residents and listening to the issues that matter most to them. We picked up a few pieces of casework in the area, and it was great having some really positive conversations throughout the day.

I was also joined by Syd today for his very first time out speaking with residents. He really enjoyed the experience and did a fantastic job engaging with people in the community.

Eid in Bedford is always an amazing event, and I had the pleasure of attending today at Addison Howard Park in Kempston.

There was something for everyone plenty of rides, delicious food stalls, face painting, and lots of activities that made it a fantastic day out, especially for young people and families. The event seems to get better and better every year, bringing together local communities and businesses in a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.

Despite the weather not being at its best this year, the turnout was incredible, which is a testament to how well organised and popular this event has become. It’s a wonderful two-day celebration where everyone is welcome to come along, enjoy themselves, and experience the vibrant community spirit that makes Bedford so special.

A huge well done to all the organisers, volunteers, local businesses, and everyone involved in making this event such a success. Looking forward to next year already!
