The PCC/NFU Rural Crime Conference is taking place on Thursday 19th November from 9:30am to 11:30am at Keysoe Village Hall.

This event is for anyone who is passionate about our rural communities and safety.

Bedfordshire Police will be joined by Bedfordshire's Police and Crime Commissioner, John Tizard and Bedfordshire and Huntingdon NFU Chair, Freya Morgan, who will be able to answer your questions and talk about the latest strategies to combat rural crime and protect our countryside.

🚓Residents of Great Denham🚓

We have been made aware of concerns regarding crime, youth anti-social behaviour and the level of visible policing in the village. Officers from the team will be at the Sainsbury's on Saxon Way this Saturday from 1pm to 2pm. Please come and have a chat to discuss your concerns, receive crime prevention advice or on how to report your issues to us.

If you can't make it, there will be a follow up event soon, which will be advertised here.

| We are currently appealing for information after a burglary in Henlow last week.

On Thursday (1 October), a man was seen on doorbell footage between 1.30am and 1.45am entering the rear garden of a property in Burgess Way before making off on foot with a key code safe.

He was wearing a hood, a face covering and gloves.

We are keen to speak to anyone who may have information as we are also investigating similar incidents that occurred in Dane Lane in Wilstead in August and Station Road in Blunham in September.

The Police and Crime Commissioner is encouraging community organisations across Bedfordshire to apply for funding to help strengthen community cohesion, promote anti-racism and build more resilient communities, with applications closing next Monday (12 October).

As part of his commitment to creating safer, stronger and more inclusive communities, the PCC has launched the third round of the Grassroots Innovation Fund.

This fund offers one-off financial support up to £5,000 for community groups to introduce innovative projects to build resilience, strengthen community cohesion and promote anti-racism across local neighbourhoods and communities.

Previous rounds have supported more than 60 local projects, enabling voluntary, grassroots and community organisations to deliver innovative initiatives that have made a real difference in their neighbourhoods.

With just days left to apply, organisations with ideas that could have a positive impact on their communities are encouraged to submit an application before the deadline.

🎓📚 Freshers' Week Wrap-Up! 🚓💙

Over the last few days, our Education and Diversion Team has been at Cranfield University, welcoming new students and sharing important safety advice, crime prevention tips, and a few freebies along the way! 🎁

As students settle into university life, we’ve been raising awareness of common fraud and scam tactics, helping them recognise the warning signs and avoid becoming targets for criminals who often see young people living away from home for the first time as vulnerable.

This was our final Freshers' event of the year, and we've thoroughly enjoyed meeting students across Bedfordshire, answering questions, and providing practical advice to help them stay safe and make the most of their university experience.

We're advising the public to be vigilant and report suspicious activity to the us to help prevent vehicle thefts and related incidents.

As the evenings get darker, we're advising vehicle owners to be aware and take precautions when parking up.

• Make sure your vehicles are locked and any valuables are taken out or out of sight.
• Close windows/sunroof to prevent ‘fishing’.
• Make sure your keys are kept in a safe place.
• Secure anything that's attached outside your vehicle.
