According to Donald Trump, the war in Gaza is over.
It's hard to disagree with him on that. After all, any war usually involves at least two states in open, hostile and violent conflict with each other.
In Gaza, since October 10th and the declaration of a ceasefire, there has only been effectively one armed party to the conflict still engaged in hostilities.
The figures speak for themselves.
Since October 10th, that one armed party has carried out the following:
- 1,620 violations of the ceasefire
- Killed over 600 men, women and children
- Opened fire upon civilians on at least 650 occasions
- Conducted over 740 bombings and artillery attacks
- Carried out the demolition of hundreds of homes
- Denied free movement of people, food, medical and other essential supplies
- Continued to militarily and physically occupy 50% of another nation's territory
- Continued to restrict, hamper and deny international humanitarian aid missions
- Continued to deny international media access
That one armed party is, of course, Israel.
The presence of Israel as a key member of Trump's "Board of Peace" makes a complete and total mockery of the very meaning of the word 'PEACE'.
Among several of the other countries involved in the "Board of Peace" are a number which certainly cannot be described as democratic and which have, and continue to be, engaged in the internal repression of political opponents and minority groups.
This, then. is the start of Trump's New World Order and the beginning of the end of the era of hope that was heralded by the formation of the United Nations in 1945.
George Orwell was only wrong about the year.
The day of Big Brother is well and truly on its way.
Its dawning was announced in Washington today.

In the opening chapter of The State and Revolution, Lenin quotes Marx: ‘… the state is an organ of class rule, an organ for the oppression of one class by another…’ This means the bourgeois state will take whatever steps it deems necessary to maintain its dominance. While this preservation of class power is common to all capitalist societies, the British state is no exception, having long practised the strategy ruthlessly.

However, in order to maintain a workable day-to-day consensus among those it governs, the British state has always claimed that it observes the highest principles with its legal practices and behaviour, all impartially applied. Consequently, the British government goes to extraordinary lengths to disguise its often blood-soaked misbehaviour. To a certain extent this may be described as hypocrisy but in reality, it is the brutal outworking of class domination through the maintenance of power.

Blaming Donal Trump for the attacks on Venezuela is a serious judgemental mistake. But of course, it suits the narrative of Imperialist hegemony. Many in the wider population just think therefore that it's the actions of an unstable president. But that's total nonsense; a fantasy story.

What causes and directs the attacks on Venezuela, just like Palestine, is an ideology. That ideology is capitalism, driven by it's 'imperial engine' of occupation, colonialism and extraction of resources. In the case of Venezuela, it's mainly oil. It has the biggest and best quality oil deposits in the world. Against which American sanctions have been used for decades.

The Donald is only the parrot. It is the deep state, made up from, intelligence agencies, multinational heads of industry, oil and gas companies, who are the real planners behind such invasions. And they are the ones who stand to gain from the 'spoils of war', oil, gas, minerals; and new markets for their products. The majority, the poor and working poor of Venezuela, will end up a lot worse off.

The people powered Socialist democracy being built in Venezuela, was seen as a threat to Yanky imperialism and capitalism; so it has to be destroyed under ANY pretense. In this case the Venezuelan President was labelled a drug baron by the Yanky administration. They have been pedalling all kinds of lies about Venezuela from when Hugo Chavez was the President there. To justify these claims the Yanks have been randomly bombing boats in the waters off Venezuela. They have been claiming for months now that they were drug boats. Except that no evidence for these claims has ever been produced. The Yanky war mongers have went further and claimed that Maduro was the head of a drugs cartel and that Venezuela was a drugs exporting hub. No evidence for any of this has ever been produced by any other official world body.

There is no law or order in the world when it comes to Yanky imperialism or, as we know already, Israeli zionism. The talk of democracy, rules or regulations is a total fallacy. Where power and authority needs to exercise it's will no rules exist. The only question that remains is what country or countries, that doesn't obey the Yanky writ, is next for invasion; and it's leaders kidnapped?

For the Left the clear obligation is to ensure that we organise and educate our people on the clear dangers of capitalism and Imperialism. Bourgeois governments, schools, or the official media will ever do our job.
