Viewpark Conservation Group have created a Summer Ranger Programme! Every Friday in July, they will host two sessions of nature-based activities and ranger-led tasks.

From 10am-12pm, we will have the Badgers (ages 7-11) and from 1pm-3pm we will have the Kingfishers (ages 12-16).

Each week will have a different focus, and will involve activities such as pond dipping, safe fire practice, den building, plant and wildlife ID and more! As we would like as many young people involved as possible, you will have to sign up each week for the following week's session via Eventbrite.

The sessions are completely free, but you must sign up as there are limited spaces!

The page will go live at 11am every Friday for the following session (first session is Friday 3rd July, so spaces will be able to be booked from 26th June). https://www.eventbrite.com/o/viewpark-conservation-group-79842148973

Appropriate PPE will be provided, along with safety demonstrations and tool talks. Please ensure appropriate clothing and footwear are worn, as we are an outdoor project (i.e. long sleeves, walking boots/wellies, rain jacket if necessary). So come along to learn new skills and make a difference for the environment! We look forward to meeting you all!

Provost Kenneth Duffy visited Little Lions Play Cafe in Bellshill, an imaginative role-play café designed especially for young children, run by Brian and his daughter Lauren.

Just over a year old, this growing local business has quickly become a favourite for families seeking a fun, safe and engaging play experience.

Blending soft play with creative and role-play elements, Little Lions encourages imagination, social interaction and early childhood development in a vibrant, welcoming setting.

The café also offers dedicated ASN sessions, ensuring an inclusive environment where every child can enjoy play at their own pace.

The council has a wide range of support to help businesses grow or start-up including funding, training, recruitment, workshops and events. Contact Business Gateway on 01698 520775 or [email protected].

Bellshill residents what matters most to you in your community?

Partners across North Lanarkshire have been working closely with local people on the issues that matter most: improving health and wellbeing, creating safer neighbourhoods, increasing opportunities, and tackling poverty.

We’re asking residents and local business to help shape their community for the coming decade by taking part in a short survey to rank their priorities - giving local people the opportunity to influence what happens in their communities.

The findings from the survey will help guide the key priorities for Bellshill to ensure we’re planning a future that works for everyone.

🕒 It only takes a few minutes - but the impact will last for years.

Have you say!

Tenants are enjoying their new homes following the completion of another fantastic council housing development at Thorn Road, Bellshill.

The 26 homes have been delivered on the site of the former Bellshill Miners Welfare Club and are set in the heart of the local community, close to local amenities and transport links.

It’s all part of our new housing supply programme which aims to deliver 6,000 new homes by 2035, regenerating our communities and town centres, creating jobs and boosting the local economy.

All our new homes are designed and built to the highest standard and are energy efficient as we embrace renewable technologies and build greener. They’re designed for varying needs, meaning they adapt over time to suit tenants’ needs and are secure by design.

The development, delivered by McTaggart Construction, is made up of 2 x 2-bedroom semi- detached; 2 x 3-bedroom semi-detached; 2 x 2-bedroom cottage flats; 2 x 2-bedroom cottage flats (wheelchair accessible) and 18 2-bedroom flats (amenity).
