I was delighted to join the Mayor of Bexley and Anna Strange-Bennett at Danson House / Bexley Register Office today to celebrate the first anniversary of Chestnuts Kiosk - with fabulously co-ordinated balloon decorations adding a very special touch.

It was business as usual for Charlie and his staff, and it was a pleasure to finally present them with their very own Bexley Bear to mark their launch in 2025 as well as today’s anniversary.

We wish you continued success and many more happy years at Danson House!!

It was a pleasure and privilege tonight to represent the Mayor of Bexley at the 2026 Bexley Voluntary Excellence Awards in the company of local MPs Daniel Francis and Abena Oppong-Asare.

This annual event, hosted by Bexley Voluntary Service Council, celebrates Bexley’s amazing volunteers, and tonight awards were presented in 7 categories.

Congratulations to all nominees, and to the award winners whose service to Bexley is truly outstanding.

I was honoured to be asked to deliver a keynote speech at the Civic Recognition Awards tonight - held jointly, for the first time, with the award of the Borough’s Representative Deputy Lieutenant’s certificates.

This special event was very well supported by the families, friends and colleagues of award winners, as well as cross party Councillors.

It was truly humbling to hear about the achievements of the award winners, who really do represent the best of Bexley.

Congratulations to you all!! 👏👏👏
