Bostall Library Community Group

Bostall Library Community Group Bostall Library is a community run library service managed by Bostall Library Community Group

Bostall Library has been providing the community with a wealth of resources since 1939. Having undergone a modern refurbishment, we are now delighted to open our doors once again to the public. With a strong community feel, Bostall Library is the home of book lovers, and our friendly staff and volunteers are always happy to help. We have a large selection of books, journals and educational resourc

es spanning a wide range of genres. Computers are available to aid in your research, and our building has Wi-Fi access for those wishing to bring their own devices. For those seeking to study, or who simply wish to escape the modern-day hustle and bustle, we offer a quiet zone. Children are more than welcome in our library; we have a range of children’s novels and encourage reading at home from an early age.

Thursday saw the return of our local MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, Daniel Francis MP, at coffee morning. He presented us with an official framed Early Day Motion that he tabled in Parliament on Monday 27th April to recoginise our 10th anniversay at the Library and the good work done by everyone.

We would like to sincerely thank Daniel for his continued support of Bostall Community Library and the recognition tabled in Parliament.

On Sunday we held a party to celebrate 10 years of Bostall Library being run as a Community Library. We invited all of our volunteers, past and present, Friends of the library, staff, trustees, MP for Bexleyheath & Crayford, and the Mayor of Bexley.
A great time was had by all and with the weather being kind, our BBQ chef managed to keep dry for a change.
Thanks to all who attended and especially those who have helped and continue make Bostall Community Library the very special place it is.
Here's a few pictures of the day...

The Choral

As World War I rages on, Dr. Henry Guthrie takes over a British choral society that's lost most of its men to the army. The community soon discovers that the best response to the chaos of war is to make beautiful music together.
