You will have no doubt heard already that the proposal to reduce library hours across Devon has not been successful and there will now be NO change to library hours. Northam Library will remain open 21 hours per week! With Open Plus also on its way!
THANK YOU to each and every one of you in our community who made your voice heard by completing the Consultation questionnaire and valuing our libraries, and for your support to us at Northam Library during this difficult period.
We would like to say a special thank you to Northam Library Action Group, who worked tirelessly, organising a public meeting and a petition, engaging with the community, press and media, as well as lobbying the support of local Councillors and MPs.
A big thank you also to Northam Town Council and our County Councillor, who have all been active in their support!
We would like to invite all our lovely library users to pop in to Northam Library next week to celebrate with us! Celebrations will begin next Wednesday 27th May, and will continue all day, as well as Friday 29th and Saturday morning 30th May, with refreshments and book giveaways taking place.
We look forward to seeing you, and thank you all once again for your fantastic support!
