Yesterday, 30.05.26 an incident took place at the south end of the airfield. This was part of the Wings and Wheels Air Show and involved one of our aircraft and one pilot.

The initial response to this incident has now ended. The pilot in question has been discharged from medical care and returned home in good spirits.

Due to the operational logistics involved in resetting the site, Shuttleworth will remain closed today, 31.05.2026, reopening at 10:00 tomorrow, 01.06.2026.

We are working hard to update our website with regular verified information at shuttleworth.org and appreciate your patience as we work to offer more information in due course.

We can confirm that there is an ongoing situation at the south end of the airfield. This was part of the Wings and Wheels Air Show and involves one of our aircraft. We are working hard to update our website with regular verified information at shuttleworth.org and to ensure we can offer more information as it becomes available.

The full line up for our Wings & Wheels Air Show is here 🎉

From unique displays with aircraft making their Shuttleworth debuts, to returning favourites, it's set to be an unforgettable day of aviation heritage and thrilling aerial entertainment.

We will also be celebrating the 80th anniversary of the de Havilland DHC-1 Chipmunk, with a display of four Chipmunks including one from our Collection, as well as the very same Chipmunk that a young King Charles III learnt to fly in 1969 - plus Chipmunks from Navy Wings & Chipmunk WD292 Ltd!

Unfortunately, the Hawker Ni**od II and the Grumman FM-2 Wildcat (G-KINL) are no longer able to display at our Wings & Wheels Air Show this Saturday (30 May).

However, we are pleased to welcome Aircraft Restoration Company's Hispano Buchon to the evening line up!

We're also excited to see Philip Meeson's de Havilland DH.89a Dragon Rapide display too 🙌

With our Champion trees and picnic area, Swiss Garden provides plenty of shaded spots that makes for the perfect family day out this half-term ☀️
