🎵 RE-MIX YOUR SUMMER: VOLUNTEER WITH US! 📚 🎧

We are seeking Young Volunteers (ages 14-19) to join the Read to the Beat reading challenge at Bradford Libraries this summer!

We are dropping the ultimate summer mashup. We are teaming up with Universal Music Group UK for Read to the Beat, and we need friendly music and book lovers to join our library crew!

🎸Your Setlist (How you'll help):

• Welcome children and help them sign up
• Hand out exclusive badges, stickers, and finish-line medals.
• Help run relaxed, music-themed craft sessions and library events.

💛Why you’ll love the gig:

• It is a fantastic way to build confidence and gain hands-on experience for your CV (can count towards Duke of Edinburgh Award).
• Meet amazing, like-minded people in a warm welcoming space.
• Shifts easily fit around your summer plans.

This 15-21 June 2026, communities across the UK are coming together to celebrate the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees and people seeking sanctuary.

From live storytelling to community gardens and food pop-ups, our neighbourhoods are stronger and more vibrant when we welcome everyone.

To honour Refugee Week 2026 Bradford Libraries are hosting a free screening of “Nation of Neighbours” at Shipley Library. Come along and share your thoughts on a series of short films being screened at Shipley Library.
