Wirral Methodist Housing Association Social Housing provider based in Birkenhead, Wirral We have a remunerated Board who give their time to ensure we maintain our ethos, our vision and our values.

Wirral Methodist Housing Association was founded in 1964 by a group of local Methodists who were moved to address the housing problems in their home community of Wirral. The organisation grew organically and slowly throughout the next 15 years until increasing funding of social housing by Government enabled it to expand to its current size of over 850 properties in management. We are a charity whi

ch does not distribute the profits we make to shareholders, but instead we re-invest them in the work we do to help people in need. We believe in treating everyone who we come into contact with as a valued individual with whom we seek to develop a mutually beneficial relationship.

Date for the Diary- Hamilton Square Community Picnic
Looking for something free to do in the summer holidays with the family.
Saturday 15th August 10-3pm Hamilton Square Gardens.
Bring a picnic and come down and enjoy music, entertainment, inflatables, mascots, facepainting and fun!
This is also an amazing opportunity to share your thoughts and suggestions for the Pride in Place funding allocated the Birkenhead.
Transport - Hamilton Square train station and Birkenhead Bus station are both within a few minutes walk.

🌼 Garden Competition Open for Entry 2026
🌿 This year’s Annual Garden Competition opens for applications on 1st June and closes on 31st July. There are three categories: Best Communal Garden, Best individual or private garden and Best Community Garden.
🏆Winners will receive a commemorative plaque
and a £50 voucher.
📩Please call us on 0151 647 5471 or email your pictures to us at [email protected], including why you enjoy gardening and what you have achieved in your garden. Judging will take place in early August, with the winners announced at our Annual General Meeting on Friday, 18th September 2026. Good luck!

Northern Housing Award Winners 2026 🎉

Congratulations to the team on winning the award for Best Use of Technology by a Social Landlord. The judges praised Wirral Methodist HA for successfully modernising tenant services through digital platforms that improved communication, repairs performance and operational efficiency. The reduction in contact volumes, arrears and processing costs demonstrated the powerful impact technology can have across the resident experience.
